Hello Everyone,
I just wanted some feedback as to how many of you play more than one MMO at a time. Its in an effort to see if I'm alone in this obsession with playing multiple MMO's. I currently play three MMO's and see no end in sight. I find that it gives me the option to explore any world I feel like at any given time and helps to keep things exciting and interesting in each individual game. I'm actually considering adding more to my plate just for the freedom of play it allows me. I'm a casual player who has periodic spurts of marathon play when time (and my wife! ) allows. Am I alone? Thanks for all of your input in advance!

Sometimes i have played 2 games simultaneously, but that happens when i am bored of 1 of them but i don't want to quit.
In that moment i was paying to play EVE Online and World of Warcraft. I was a bit bored of EVE Online since i had to learn more skills to pilot a good ship (because i wanted to pilot it, not because i needed to pilot it), and, in EVE Online, you don't need to spend hours in front of the screen to learn skills, your character learns the skills 24/7, so i was playing World of Warcraft when my character in EVE Online was bored in the "library" XDD
PS: Also i am a very casual gamer, but i have a guilt feeling when i am paying for 2 or more MMORPGs that i am not taking advantage of
Funny you mention this, I have been playing WoW for quite a few months and last night i restarted my sub to EQ2. Last time i loged in was years ago! I feel so lost in EQ2 due to the time i've been away from the game and the massive changes they've made to the game. I forgot how gorgeous the game looked!
On top of that i am doing 2 close beta right now tho my time has been limited lately.
I play with the Station Pass, EQ2 and Vanguard are the ones I play, though I did log into the Matrix (lasted three minutes) and also jumped on SWG (that was such a good foundation for a game till they turned it into a FPS) And finally I logged into EQ1 and man, I was rather inpressed with the graphic upgrades they have made in that game. Freeport and the commonlands looked amazing. Not to mention the mob improvments, graphics wise that is. Seeing some of the old hunting grounds was pretty cool.
But mostly, I play EQ2. I have the station pass because I am one of those folks waiting for Vanguard to turn into what I hope it will be. I just can't seem to let it go, so I play Van and EQ2 at the same time. I also am in a closed beta at the moment and it looks promising. Man that will suck, three games at once *sigh*
But to tell you the truth, if they would include DAoC on the Station Pass (think EA would loan that game to SOE?) or drop the monthly price for it, then I would without a doubt, be playing DAoC, my favorite game of all time. The only reason I dont play it now is because my wife wont go back with me, she only seems to like EQ2 now. Women !!!

i'm pretty loyal to one game at a time, unless i start to get bored then i start looking for demos, free games or fire up some of the beta invites. i also stick with one character, even if i'm not entirely happy with the skill set, i'll keep playing just that one.

I have a Station Pass subscription which grants me access to SWG, EQ2, and Vanguard. I also am subbed to LoTRO and DDO as well. Out of all of those, I only play DDO, SWG, and Vanguard. Obviously, my goal isn't to make quick progress and I am able to wait several months to get what I want. Now, I do plan on letting my LoTRO sub run out as with my Station pass. I would like to be subbed to the following:
SWG- Because it is the only SW MMO on the market.
CoH- I like the group play, the ability to get right into the action and finish what you're doing in a short amount of time, character custimization. If played casually, CoH won't get boring. CoH is one of a kind.
DDO- Playing with in a dedicated teams group (a group that only groups with each other...usually once a week) is a lot of fun. The quests are all fun and if you haven't ran the quests several times are engaging. This game is well polished, uses a modified 3.5 ruleset, allows for multi-classing...making creating new characters fun, and allows you to jump right into the action and do almost anything in short game spurts.
<insert traditional fantasy MMORPG here> - I haven't settled on a fantasy MMORPG since DAoC came out with Catacombs and ruined my grouping experience, but I do like to be subbed to a traditional fantasy MMORPG, since I do like them.
Unfortunately, I can't justify spending $60/mo on video games, when I don't play any of them hardcore. They are just all unique and are fun to play for their own reasons. I hate quitting a game and coming back after a few months, because then I end up starting from scratch, since I don't remember exactly the direction I was taking my character the last time. I draw my line at $30-45 a month. Actually, I probably will draw it at $30/mo after all these subs run out.
I plan on sticking with DDO for the dedicated teams group I am playing with, but am debating on the others. I was thinking of waiting for a new MMORPG to come out and start fresh and just stick with it, but none are coming out in the near future. Wrath of the Lich King has me excited to resub, but I have never fealt motivated enough to get past lvl 40 in that game. The quests are just so boring and tedious. EQ2's quests are worse and it suffers from being zone heavy; Vanguards are better, but suffers from a low population and is incomplete; LoTRO has the best story line and quests out of them all and the scenery looks great, but I can't get into the classes. I've tried every fantasy game on the list just about and none can hold my interest. I might just be burnt out on their core designs and need a break/something different. This is what made me start subbing to several MMOs at once. Just so I have a variety. Seriously considering resubbing to WoW though since it has a healthy population, and Death Knight sounds worth sticking with it for. Plus, exploring a new land is interesting too. I just need to get through the 1-30 quests that I have done too many times. If I play it casually like I do the other games, I should be able to make it to the end game by the time WoTLK comes out, so I can explore the new lands and unlock DK.
Anyhow, rambling on like I usually do.
MMORPG's w/ Max level characters: DAoC, SWG, & WoW
Currently Playing: WAR
Preferred Playstyle: Roleplay/adventurous, in a sandbox game.
I'm currently playing LOTRO, 2Moons, Sword of the New World and ArchLord. Along with some shooters. Playing one MMORPG at the time bores me.
