This post to tell you of a brand new game which has now entered the open beta stage. We are looking for gamers who would like to play this game.
Path to Pelantas is a unique addition to the world of MMORPGs. Combining elements from sports management and role playing games the game is the only one of its kind. The setting is a medieval fantasy world where you undertake the command of a homestead as an aspiring lord.
With the task of ruler of your homestead comes the responsibility of managing a party of heroes all willing to fight under your banner. You appoint these heroes to weekly arena battles against other lords and you send them into the wilderness to complete dangerous quests and fight vicious monsters.
The game is played using only the internet and a browser. The game is text-based and is played real time, meaning most events tak place on a regular weekly scheduled basis. There is a possibility for new events to happen any time though, so there are plenty of reasons to log in every day.
The game is not time-consuming at all, and that's why it's such a great alternative to other Massive Multi-User Online Role-Playing Games.

These type of games were fricken awsome.... back in 95
I agree that this game is past its time just like all the others. I enjoyed games like this before games went graphical. Its like black and white tvs...who would buy one when you can buy a plasma tv...or one in color to say the least.
Text based games are still hugely popular. People play em from work, they are usually very casual player friendly.

We definitely think that with our concept we are not out of date. As of today many people don't have the time to play the visual MMORPGS because you have to sit for several hours a day to be able to do well in the game.
With our game all you need to do is log in perhaps once a day to see if anything has happened. Its not like this game is a MUD or something. We actually think it is kind of unique.
Have any of you played Hattrick? A completely textbased manager game which has evolved into one of the biggest online games at all. The reason is not graphics - the reason is that you can log on at work or if you have 3 minutes while the potatoes are almost done...
But you will never know what i'm talking about if you don't try for yourself.
Our closed beta test had 150 participants and we had an overall ranking of 7,2 (from 1-10) when testing stopped. I find that very good for a game that is not finished yet. It surely means there is an audience for a game like this...

I just started playing Path to Pelantas, and think the game has real potential. In my mind, text-based games are here to stay. One of the great things about text-based is the stimulation of your imagination. Its just like reading a good book! In my minds-eye, my homestead and heroes are truly glorious!
3 weeks have past and we are now almost 1000 users. I see a lot of you MMORPG.com guys too. That's very nice!
The open beta will approximately last for 2 months more, so there is still plenty of time to enjoy all the features.
text based games still have some advantages, mostly time wise.. and unfortunately there are still people in the world without cable internet.. not me but im just saying..

Just wanted to know (I love my heroes...) Am I going to lose my team when the open-beta is finished?
I am really hooked on this web game. It has some great potential.
I just wish there was more to do. I log in many times a day just to see if something has happened. There should be events..
There will be more events added in the future. We have just announced quite a few future changes to the game. Hope these will satisfy your need for more action

No more resets will be made, so you'll get to keep your heroes forever (or until they leave for Pelantas, that is...)
Give us the option to be female.
"Lord Serabel" sigh lol.
Also since there are no future wipes planned, if you do implement female characters, give a one time pass to become female to existing players.
Actually it's already on our to do-list, so soon it'll be possible to change lord to lady in your preferences

I really love this web game, its a must try for those interested in web strategy games. The updates are great so keep em coming... just wish we can give nicknames to our heroes

We are constantly adding to the game, so there will be many many more things to do when you are online very soon.
Tomorrow we will add exercise battles and in a week or two the entire design will get a remake.
Things are really progressing well, and a lot of new users are coming to the game. I see a lot of users from mmorpg.com also. That's so great!

Please elaborate on this... I am not aware of any bugs in the registrate process... What is going wrong?
A lot of new stuff added during the summer - we soon got quite a nice game if I may say so...
