What kinds of quests?

Its great That quests will be the main Means to lvl. Or is it?

I Hope all the quests are amazing, cause this will make or break The game. Wont it?

But what's good for me, might be boring to you.

Quest can be anything really .  (they could have a quest, have you gather a group and kill 100 mobs)

Anyone got spoilers of the main quests in this game? Are they any good? are they all the same or very diffrent ??

Once there is online spoilers for every quest of this game, what will that do to this game?

-What is a good quest ???

I can see this working if the quests give you freedom (choices).

And thes choices Work on diffrent factions? (only for solo quests)

Very epic Quests Are awsom, but not for everyone.

What is your ideal Quest?

Just because the spoilers are out there, there's no reason to look at them. I guess the main quest of the game is the Ancestral Quest which will allow you to travel back in time to see why the world exploded into shards etc. That's all I know about that. Oh, and I believe they are solo-only.

And helpers/spoilers for quest was made to help the people that are stuck but has been abused so that people just read the spoilers instead of actually trying and finding out about the quest. There is only spoilers if you want there to be.

Some of the leveling quest is campaign quests. (Just watch the GC Leipzig Video) Which means some of the quest got a follow up, and I believe a lot of the quest is lore driven so I think reading the quests, not just to find out what to do, but to really understand the lore around the shards etc, is going to be really great. In some games there is just quest implemented for you to level and isn't really that lore driven. And the devs have talked a lot about that they don't want any kill X of that or collect X of that etc, and since there is nearly no xp gaining from killing mobs and having a great lore gives the game a nice chance to actually make some fun quests. For me, quest that actually make you feel like your inside the world is what I think is a good quest.

Having choices in quest would be really nice, not sure if they got those in TCoS. I guess we'll just have to wait for Open Beta/release to find out ;)

Sterkt summed it up pretty well, except that not all ancesteral quests are solo only.

Spellborn's focus on lore and story will no doubt make the quests very entertaining, and considering how much effort they've put into this game, I'd be surprised if we end up with many dull quests. Somewhere along the line, there will probably be "go to there, kill this, gather these" quests, but that is pretty much unavoidable considering the fact that there are well over one thousand quests in the game. I think most quests, though, are more like adventures than menial tasks.

Will Most of the Quest be solo?

I don't know exactly how it's going to work, but I think it's safe to say that there will be a lot of quests you can solo, but also many quests that require a group. Luckily, the great thing about Spellborn is that parties will be very easy to put together. You only need four people and you don't need to wait for hours to find a tank or a healer, since everyone can do that a little. All you need are four random people of decent skill and intelligence, which, from the looks of the community so far, won't be too hard to find.

Well one of the things mentioned in their video is that you can dodge attacks manually. This may require a lot more work on your part than you are used to but a player should be able to solo group quests if they are skilled enough to understand how mob animations work so they can dodge their attacks.

The big issue that will come up frequently with this working right is latency. Just having 200 ping will force you to throw off your timing from 0.4-0.6 seconds. As ping increases the less feasible it is to take advantage of the manual dodging mechanics.

The devs have good intentions, but they are going to open up a new can of worms mmoprg players who haven't played fps games rarely took into account until now.

The best examples I can give on how latency creates mistimings is WoW. Try to run along side people unbuffed in battlegrounds. You'll notice you are running faster than some people and slower than others even though you all have the same run speed. This is caused by latency.

Another example is to learn about a function called /stopcasting. With 200 ping your dps can go up by about +100 if you create a macro that cuts out the latency with /stopcasting. With 500 ping your dps can go up quadratically to +300. Latency is THE bane of every players' existence whether they are ignorant of it or not.

I think its a good thing to not have to much "grind", i mean...who want to spend their game time on killing mobs? I want to play the game instead. And a MMO that dont have much to offer besides kiling mobs cant  be a good game.

There is some new info about quests in their latest developer diary. It implies that there will be quest chains that you can mostly solo, like the one they give as an example where you work to become a citizen of the Enclave and choose one of the High Houses (their player factions).

You can find their newsbit here: http://tcos.com/news/?id=820

You also have to understand what a vital part PvP is to this game.  A majority of the zones will be PvP zones, in addition to the more organized fights between guilds and players in the Arena.  This game is also (from what I understand) going to be dynamic and to a certain extent player-driven.  Just knowing that if I get a little sick of questing (which may or may not happen), I can go out and jack up the adrenaline for a while should be enough for just about anyone.

Additionally, don't forget that the combat system is going to be like nothing ever seen in a MMORPG to this date.  It will be fast-paced, skill-based and dynamic - a slightly augmented 3ps with a killer story in the form of a MMORPG?  Foghettaboutit!

If the PvP in this game Is meaningfull and Well Incorparated I can defenetly see a bright futur!

A majority of zones will be pvp zones? I seriously doubt that.

It's pretty cool that the main capitol city where players will gather to trade, etc. will have sections that are pvp enabled, the Arena and Green District but from what I gather they are going to be very careful about making other zones pvpable.

From what I can tell they want pvp zones to enhance the atmosphere of questing areas. So if you are on a quest that takes you to a location where the houses are trying to settle a dispute between neighboring factions pvp in that area wouldn't make sense because house memebers should be able to cooperate with each other.

On the other hand each house has secrets that they don't want others to know so if quests take you into locations that would uncover such secrets pvp would be enabled.
