Does anyone know of a good 2d mmorpg anymore? I played UO for years and tried all these new mmorpgs, but nothing compares to uo. I think a big factor here is that you just cant get the same kind of playability on a 3d client that you can on a 2d client. Stuff just gets too complicated in 3 dimensions I suppose, pvp never works right. The graphics dont end up being very impressive anyway, 2d art is much more appealing for me until nextgen 3d games come out and even then the playability may keep me away..
Of course, the big problem here.. I don't even know if there are other good 2d mmorpgs, and no new mmorpgs are coming out in 2d because its not as popular.
The last I played was redmoon which seemed decent but I never got high enough to really tell, doesnt seem to be a big hit over here either. Suggestions? hold the flames about 2d/3d etc:P thanks

Most 2D games are older games. They are not as big as games like Everquest, but they sometimes offer a decent challenge, up to a point.
Nexon, a Korean company, has a couple decent anime-type games: NexusTK and Dark Ages. Nexus is more for those who like hunting and socializing; Dark Ages caters to a role-playing community and lots of endeavors necessarily involve other players. The "problem" with both games is they have attracted an increasingly younger player base. Both games have a lot of community involvement, however, and the players actually run a lot of the features of each game.
Try legend of mir (legendofmir.net i think).
It's a low-cost investment too, they let you d/l the client for free, and you can play it for free till a relatively high level.
