Combat Strategy

I read somewhere that we are supposed to be able to hold outposts and such? Can like a group of players randomly setup an outpost on their own with turrets and shields and such and use that as a frontal assault to take a territory as well as are there such items to do that. I'm going for engineer so will i be able to setup like 8 turrets and 2 defensive shields? or will it stricktly be setup to places already setup in the game? Also will there be alot more worlds and maps than beta default? just wondering that as well
