ODEX Vs SINGNET/STARHUB/PACNET

Hey all anime lovers, i will like to know how all of you obtain your animes episodes?

Question here is: Does downloading anime online illegal? Or is it just bittorent? What about DDL and those pay sites?

If it is illegal, does it mean it applies to all countries over the world?

Well, I am from singapore, and i download animes frequently. Usually from direct download means like trinitaku, realitylapse, and anime nuke etc.

Recently, a local company ODEX file a legal suit with the following companies SINGNET, STARHUB, PACNET. There are no laws that indicate downloading anime of ALL means are illegal. But due to poor business, ODEX issue lawyer letter and demand the name list for the people who download animes. As customers of any service provider organisation, it is invading one's privacy to just reveal the customer names. Singnet does it w/o any retaliation and didnt even engage a lawyer to fight back. This create a chaos and riot for and many customers unsubscribe SINGNET Services. FYI ODEX is not any big company that has sole distributorship, they are only the licensee of MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED. But they are suing for all anime titles they have no rights to. Starhub did fought back a little, but lost this case. Which i dont know why. Only PACNET won due to the following above points that ODEX cross the line.

Here i want to tell you this matter, is to need you to give your comments and feedback about this matter. Is it legal or illegal? There is no laws or any companies here that creates animes that have the authority to control us from download from legal fansubs. Who else can touch us??
