PoxNora...Anyone play it?

Has anyone tried that PoxNora game that keeps showing up on the banner rotation. It looks interesting (since I played Magic the Gathering, and some Mageknight sfuff). I'm just curious if this is worth trying out. Thanks.

    Dystopian -

I played it a bit; and basically; yes you have your "tiles" or runes or what did they call them that is like a magic deck-

and you fight for power nodes (which i always thought magic should have been; short of land destruction you can't interfere in MTG; sad huh..)

Anyway; my only disappointment with it was the actual movement and combat map; once it comes down to it; just felt a little dry to me.

Played Massive assault network? Rather like that.

Not BAD just somehow seemed... well i said dry; "lacking" comes to mind; too.

tactics online came to mind; too.

Can't hurt to give it a try though can it?

Ok, thanks for the info Badger. The game looks interesting, but I'm not sure if I would pay for "booster packs". I'm just trying to find a game to run on my crappy laptop. Also, I will try some of the other games you suggested.

Hey tell me if pox Grabs you any better than it did me.

Did you play Age of wonders? single player but the same concept in my opinion (updated master of magic that is :) ) -and i bet it'll run on your laptop :)

also if you like magic i played what was it - astral masters -

its nothing more than an interesting take on MTG really; and FOR ME not quite up to investing in; but a nice re-thinking of some of the ideas.

Hope one of these keeps you happy. :)

Naw, never heard of that game.  I played some Legend of the Five Rings, but that game was some serious number crunching once alot of troops were deployed.  I also did some Battletech card games, but preferred the miniature game. I will let you know if I like Pox or not.

Never know that, so have no idea.

Haven't tried it but it looks sort of interesting. Don't like the aspect of paying for booster packs cause i dont think i would enjoy the game that much to spend money and such.

Magic the gathering is great btw!

    Current: Puzzle Pirates
    Waiting: SWTOR,Aion, CO
    Played: AC, WoW, SB, EVE

I was the same about spending money on booster packs, but then I figure for $25 buck you can get 100 cards/figures (I think thats how many anyways) and wont have to spend money again. Where as we pay $15 a month for such games as WoW, and it ends up being more money. I messed around with the Pox tutorial, and I guess the starter set doesn't levelup like the cards you purchase. So eventually we will have to buy booster to play more experienced players anyways. I might buy some, but want to try some test games first.

DEFINITELY play more before you buy boosters :)

I mean otherwise  risk finding out 3 games in its not that exciting - like I said I quit pretty quickly - but thats no indication; I have odd taste in games it seems :)...

which is exactly why i test drive any game before i buy.
