Price Check on Items: Rancor

Is it true that some items are priced super high?  I used to play the game and have a ton of stuff on my toon.  I am just curious at some of the crazy prices things are going for.  I heard pixie dust (cant remember the exact name) is going for crazy amounts now.

LA has said that there will be no reference to drugs in SWG, so every since NGE, Smugglers have been unable to make any spice.  Sooo, since it has nearly been 2 years since spice was made, they have become quite rare, especially when you consider that it is a consumable.  For the record, I still have factory crates of it.  I probably should sell it sometime since I don't use it.

Neuron Pixie goes for about 2 mil a crate, possibly more on Ahazi. Rancors go from 70-90 mil.

So yeah, super high. Even worse on smaller servers.

Anything that was once obtainable or craftable that no longer is due to the capriciousness of the developers has become valuable.

Rancors, grauls, and cryrstal snakes, for example, cannot be sampled for DNA in the Beast Master system.  They were all tamable and rancors and grauls were craftable under the BE system prior to the NGE.

Thus they are worth millions now.  On Ahazi, 80 million seems to be the price of a stuffed rancor or graul, or their DNA.

So many players have NO IDEA how BM works, or what has changed from CH/BE.  The information is out there on the official forum, but so few of them can be botherd to do the reading.  Shades of Nancy McIntyre!

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

However Rancors, Grauls and Kimos can all be obtained by Mutations, although people are still trying to discover the technique to get them...

Beast Master Expertise: Mutations of Science

Everyone is excited about the new Beast Master Expertise System coming to Star Wars Galaxies in Chapter 6. Here is a sneak preview of some of the great things to come!

One of the interesting new game play features of the Beast Master system is the ability to grow your own pets.

Beast Masters will use creature incubators to grow DNA strands into eggs.

While the creature is incubating, Beast Masters will be able to manipulate the controls of the incubator to adjust the temperature, add enzymes, nutrients, and natural chemicals found in the plants harvested on most planets.

As the Beast Master cares for their incubating creature, there is a chance they can mutate!

Our scientists have identified some of the possible creature mutations. Here are some of the fantastic new creatures they have created.

As creature DNA grows in an incubator, beast masters will be able to experiment with different enzymes, nutrients and temperature gauges to try and cause a creature mutation.

Maturing from DNA into an egg, beast masters will be able to select different ratings on the incubator to try and affect a creature's behavior.

A beast master will adjust these attributes to affect a creature's growth:

    • Aggression
    • Bestial Resilience
    • Cunning
    • Hunter's Instinct
    • Intelligence
    • Survival

Beast masters will have to care for their developing creature through three sessions of developmental growth. At each stage, all of the choices will affect the chance a creature has to mutate. If successful, the incubator will visually react and display a message confirming that a mutation has occurred.

Some creature mutations are rarer than others and require that the DNA mutates through all three sessions of development!

Different creatures have different types of physical mutations such as color, feathers or spikes.

During all three stages of creature development, your crafting skills will be put to the test. You will have to pay attention to the quality of the incubator, the enzymes, the geothermal power and the DNA. The color of the enzymes and choice of expertise abilities will be important as well.

Here is a fearsome creature that has gone through three successful mutations.

Creature mutation is just one of the interesting aspects of the beast master expertise coming to Star Wars Galaxies in Chapter 6.

Be sure to check back to find out more about this exciting new game feature.

There are more mutations then just those true mutents.  There are complete species mutations that you can obtain which gives you access to many of those creatures that you can't sample in the wild - such as the Mustafar creatures
