I would love to know what other MMO out there does not require you to "spend time" to have fun in ? Seriously name one were you just jump in and don't need to "spend time" to have some good PvP fun and get to know your role?
DAOC.
You obviously don't play DAOC
First you have to grind to 50... even if you have good friends power levelling you it'll take you a good 2 or 3 weeks to do this.
Then you have to grind through your master levels.... easily another 3-4 weeks, possibly longer....
Then you have to get your champ gear/levels etc.
Then you have to get all the epic equipment
Next you need to manage to get to realm rank 4 or higher to really be worth a crap in PVP.
2 years ago yeah, you could get into pvp in DAOC fairly quickly. But like every other MMORPG on the planet it takes TIME to catch up to the top elite players. Except that in EVE you are NEEDED in PVP from the time you can fly a decently fitted tackling frigate/interceptor (about 2-4 weeks of play).
I played DAOC for years, and was in THE premier guild on my server. Don't even try to say that you can just jump into DAOC and be competitive 'quickly' in PVP.
Daoc was one of the fastest ways to good pvp. You could start enjoying it at around "Thidranki" and "Abermenai" level of the battlegrounds (roughly around level 15 to level 24)
You did not have to grind to 50 to enjoy pvp, in fact, some of the funner pvp moments could be experienced in the battlegrounds before frontiers.
M1sf1t didn't ask for a game where you could be competitive, he just wanted some solid good pvp fun.
I don't think there is any game where you would be able to be competitive against someone who started playing the game 2 years before you.
To start enjoying pvp in Daoc takes less than a week I would say. It doesnt take that long to get to 20.
EDIT : Oh yea and just to add, one of the coolest things about Daoc and its pvp system was that you could level your character straight through the battlegrounds. Which I did with my Infiltrator from 20-45. PvE was optional.

I am currently in a NPC corp, awaiting the application to go through in a friends split off corp from our old one. Can't wait for Rev III to come out.
