I am a bit scared to answer such questions. The nVidia drivers seem to be not as good as the ATI drivers with VG.
I am also not excatly sure if the dual core is supported yet. If so, then you should be fine. There will be places with lag , but you should be able to enjoy the game.
Wait for the trial if you are unsure.
when exactly will this trial be released?
Extremism in the defense of Liberty is no vice.
I dont know. They are working on it. I think they will try to catch some of the christmas holiday bussiness. I rolled an alt last week and saw that they polished the starter quest. It was not broken, but now really leads you to the exit of the place. The also have put in some messages to build a real starter story.
Thanks for the info Eugam, I have been hoping that they would do a trial of Vanguard as it sounds interesting but you read so much negative press about it.
Seriously???
My comp is 4 years old (granted I tweak it like a hot rod) and I ran vanguard no problems.
You'll be fine. If not....well..you have issues other than vanguard, seek professional help for your computer..
I'm running a 3.0ghz p4 prescott core, 2 ghz ddr400 dual channel ram, and an 8x AGP Geforce 7600...My comp ran vanguard fine. (couldn't quite put it on the highest settings.)
You should have absolutely no issues.
D.
p.s. If you are running windows vista you might have issues though.
O bugger! is there a problem with Vista?
I think its solved. It was about Vista, nVidia divers and DX9/DX10. I know for sure that people play on Vista.

I play using vista. No problem with that. Although I don't get the FPS I would like overall, I don't have any issues with my machine and Vanguard.
The game itself still needs work. It would be nice if everytime I logged in where my character is in the dwarf city I didn't fall through the world. (then you would think I would learn NOT to log out in the city...I'm dense that way I guess) and a bunch of other stuff but that's beside the point.
OP, the variation and inconsistance of problems from machine to machine makes it's tough to say how it will run for you. Looking at yours, I would think you should have no problem. Don't hoot at me if it doesn't. I think there are (or were) specific issues with the 8800 series cards. Don't quote me on that but look at the offical site.
Thanks for the heads up guys, I do run an 8800 card. I will check out the official sites before I make a move.
Excellent thanks guys, I have heard about all the different variations with Vanguard problems and was wondering. I'm going to install windows XP for now until Vista gets a bit older and over some of the problems I have heard about. I'm looking forward to Vanguard even though I have heard more negative than positive from others so far as far as content goes but that can always be fixed with an update/expansion should the programers choose. I played EQ for about 4 years so Vanguard is right up my alley. One thing i've heard that is a big concern is the hacking in pvp, sounds like the devs should fix that asap...
Any suggestions on a good PvE server?
