Is there any upcoming MMORPG that this type of player might like?

1. Played AC1. Liked it at first (1999) before the cheating took over.

2. Powergamer who likes to be out hunting most the time and leveling. Likes interesting combat. Plays 50+ hours a week.

3. Loves loot. Likes to hunt MOBs most the time for treasure and uber loot (ala Diablo 2/AC1). Likes it when he hunts MOBs to know there is a chance they might drop the most unique and priceless item to be found in the game.

4. Not crazy about grouping with strangers or LFG all the time. Likes to group with friend's in small groups (2-3) occasionaly for quests or hunting. But since he plays a lot and friends play limited amount he likes to solo a lot.

5. Crafting isn't important to him. He hates crafting based economies like SWG.

Hmm guess I felt like it. BTW the UXO project looks like it is either dead or a very long ways from release.

not many games like that anymore. Personally, i hate those games :P

But, most new games are based on a player economy and at least 75% of the new games are crafter based for uber items, there is little or no "uber loot." I could be wrong, but most of the big name games coming are.

Might want to try anarchy online.  Teaming is the best way to level but you can solo the game pretty well too.

Have you checked out Lineage II? Lots of leveling and a variety of drops with rather low probability of dropping per item. Soloing or small groups are normal.

Yes Lineage 2 is for power gamer but the item drop in L2 is not as cool or as interesting or as rare and unique like AC1 and D2. lineage2 combat system is also very boring and repetative with no stategy. WoW will have lots of rare items and magical items drop but it might apeal to casual gamer more than power gamer, but you never know since it's not yet release. I would say wait for EQ2.

You want the best items in the game when you group with 2 or 3 people? BAHAHAHAHAHA, good luck.  Most games you'll need about 40-70 people to get the very best of the best items.

I dunno, you could try DAoC maybe, that game is very fun!  Though a bit dated nowadays... it definitely won't be EQ2.  WOW most likely is the game you seek!

you could try anarchy online....its a bit old tho. has a free seven day trial, so worth trying....its got ALOT of items...easy to powergame for hours...many uniques...level restricted pvp (so far its the only pvp system i know of that works...no newbie slayers here)

Thats the one thing that i like about the older games...sure they outdated gfx and such but the content is fully developed
