I'd more say if you missed it, but let your subscription drop there must have been some reason - so I'll not go down that route with you myself...
I will say that SI (if you never played it) certainly added much more content to the game, and I think probably made levelling to 50 easier
I actually quit for awhile before SI came out and joined back up when life calmed back down about 3 months before it released. Let me tell ya - it certainly made the game a lot more fun if for no other reason than the graphic engine upgrade.
ToA did the same thing as far as a graphic engine upgrade - the new one ROCKS! I even ran the SI engine one one 'puter and the ToA on the other just to see some of the diffs and man was it better.
New Races / Classes between SI and ToA certainly add new flavor to the game as well - and they are about to release some updates for RvR so...
If you like RvR - they are working on updating it all the time
If you like PvE they have added a wealth of new places to hunt and new things/loot for the taking
On the hopes you are re-subscribing.... Welcome back!!!!
There are games out on the market that I was utterly un-impressed with, but I never would even consider taking the time out of my busy schedule in order to throw pithy comments around. It would seem good sir that DAoC is not to your liking, perhaps your time (and quite honestly hours) would be better spent in the forums of the games that you are interested in - certainly you could provide excellent information for those people looking for answers, rather than telling people (who obviously like the game) that its a waste of money.

Like: DAoC, WOW, GW, DnL
Dislike: SoR, EQ, EQ2, SWG, KO, AC2, CoH
Don't Care About: Most Everything Else
I would say it depends on...
Have any high level toon's (50) you can reactivate?
Does the guild (if you were in one) still survive?
Remember it was the Daoc community that was great...lowbie part of game is all but dead.

I have to admit - I'm often curious...

Just a thought.
