You're right, I am not a volunteer and managing this website is my full time job. In fact, MMORPG.com has four content employees: myself, our News Manager Szark, our Community Manager Taera and our Art Director Skywisenight. If you have a problem with something that I am doing, or that any of the site management are doing, you should email me directly at stradden@mmorpg.com.
When do you plan on responding to emails about becoming writers?!!
Writer applications are reviewed generally on an as-needed basis and beyond that, whenever we have the time to sit down and review the samples that are provided with applications.

Tell ya what buddy, I replied to your post yesterday where I asked if you were new to the internet, after you asked a question, and then followed up by saying anyone with a negative answer need not reply. I thought I made a valid point, because asking for information, and then saying you only want to hear what you think is proper, is quite counter-productive. You've already made up your mind what you wanted to hear, thus negating the need to ask the question.
Regardless, my short response was deleted, so this thread is also moot, because they already are moderating. Cheers to you though, you've helped censor this website more to your liking, and saved the world from negative views.
In an idea world there would be no need for warnings, bans or moderators, unfortunately the ideal world does not exist. The best statement to sum it up is "Without law and order, man has no freedom."
We have to censor to keep this place in order, and ironically this is what protects the free speech on the site. If moderators only intervened in very serious matters (racism, gold selling, etc) then most threads would quickly disnintegrate into flaming and arguing matches, meaning people would be censored by others abuse.
Free speech is a balancing act, it has to be free enough so that people can express themselves, but controlled enough so that those expressions can be protected and given a fair hearing without someone trashing them.
Banning spam and adult rated stuff is fine, but right now, MMORPG bans/locks anything remotely negative. It's the bad part about having an advertising site with forums as well.

Name-calling, baiting, trolling, spamming referral links, etc - these are all things that make a less enjoyable forum-space, and that's why they're not allowed. I enjoy a good debate, but I don't enjoy a bad argument. If you feel that we moderate too strongly I understand, and that's your decision, but this is a forum that discourages that behavior and it will remain that way

I was just kidding, I think you knew that though.
