Persistent Instance Technology

Everquest II now has two zones -- Emerald Halls (raids) and Estate of Unrest (groups) -- that use their new persistent instance technology, which allows groups or raids to set a time frame (within set limits) for their instance to be saved for a future visit.

The reason behind the creation of persistent instances is to allow more casual players to participate in some of the more time-consuming aspects of the game.

The following question is for casual players (less than 30 hours per week):

useful for raiding. Grouping I suppose if you know you're going to be in the same exact group the next day, though I don't know if that can be guaranteed with many people making it seem maybe a little pointless? Key-based systems maybe can serve the same purpose. Someone in group has advanced the whole dungeon and has a key so it can be used to open the way for the other members. Similar system but should a group not be able to get back together at least one or two members can enter another group and use the progress they made the day before. Incidentally these keys could have a certain time limit as well.
