I have been playing Age of Armor since second closed beta testing began, I am by no means a specialist for games, nor is my opinion the official statement about where this game sits in development, All this is, is my opinion.... so here is my score card....
Name- Age of Armor
Grafix- Weak... barely holds up expecialy when compaired to other games currnetly on the market. no real clean grafix nothing stands out very well on the character or the environment. With other games currently out such as vanguard, WOW, Guild Wars I personaly believe this area needs serious improvement.
Sound- nothing new or spetacular. kind of a rock metal cross... nothing special... ended up turning the music down because it became to distracting from what was going on in the game.
AI- the enemies always pop up in the same area... they react exactly the same every time they are encounted and they employ the same techniques every time. The enemies are very easy to avoid and there is very little agro range. Pulling a single enemy is very easy as they only attack single or in a group that is readly noticable. Really nothing to look forward to from this point.
Learning Curve- OUCH!!!! this game is anything but friendly to new players. No real learning segment within the game... this is unfortunate because I like many others dont read the directions first. A large improvement would be to impliment a training area for all the various functions that the player will have to utilze at some point.
Story- What... no real story line exists within... no real enguaging storys have been presented to me so far and I have traveld to many other planets already. This needs vast improvements...
Character- Alright.. finaly a good point. There is a wonderful array of abilitys and upgradeability available within the game. You can find, buy or upgrade your own armor. You can give limited boosts and upgrades and mix up the armors a bit to get what you want. I have had a great deal of fun with this aspect.
enemies- each area has a fairly limited range of diffrent enemies. Over entire planets there are numorus diffrent enemies for destruction. This game is loaded with shootem up and hack and slash. Not much available outside of those perameters.
results- The character versitility is what keeps me playing, other than that this game needs some serious overhalling to seriously be a player in the market. It is fun.... Just not spetacular.
Comments
Shocked. I am shocked to hear that this is a bad game, considering the developers lack even the resources (or presence of mind) to hire an English-speaking writer to do the US version of their Web site.
I just stay away from Mech games, just not my thing!!
This poster has played this game, i'll give them that. Howevery they miss point out critical points of the game. Althought it seems lame the writer will continue to play. Why?
Simple This game has gotten even close to its peak because data has now been translated yet. You can't transform or get the full equipment the game offers yet. Transforming is important!
Although the mobs appear in the same place, it has its good points. The map is pretty big and there are alot of senes. looking for them is not only a pain but will make you stop playing very fast. This is from expericance.
The sound is not great, but you can always request for better sound or use your own if like.
graphic are decent and not at all extremely bad.
New Players should read the guide. Its a beta so Read the Guide or find out urself.
Also I expericanced a veru warm welcome when i started. there was tons of helpful people the first 3 days.
