In need of a better option...

I will say this, right out of the gate: I hate WoW, with a passion. I've played it for a long time, mind you, but I've gotten tired of the players, so I've washed my hands of that. I'd like suggestions of a better game to play, with a strong role playing community. I do not care about PvP, not even about the best, over-all, PvE....though, it would be nice. I just want decent role playing, for once, and nice avatar options. Would there happen to be any fine options that would fit this little set up? I've looked around, and have yet to find it. Any feed-back would be lovely. Thank you.

ive been looking for the same for a good bit now and sadly to say i cant think of one that meets all three criteria sadly

Ok let me get this straight.  You hate WoW, althogh you've played a long time.  Hmm, what constitutes as a long time to you?  You hate WoW because of the people.  Ahem, does this mean you can no longer tolerate the folks in your guild?  Why did you join that guild to begin with?  If you don;t like something, pratice your Constitutional rights.  Additionally, if you consider a server overrun with pimple-faced middle school Geeks using uber-leete speak, then find out from official forums where the adults server are.  Jeesh, what a poor excuse for a WoW flame.

Did you not make any close friends playing this game all "that time" you considered to be a long time? At any rate, good luck finding a game you'll actually find people you like and PvP/PvE you like.  Maybe you can find an old-timers "old school" game out there.  You know, the ones where the gamers are a little hard of hearing such.

I'd recommend Lord of the Rings Online on the Roleplayer server. The game is clearly build towards PVE with little pvp, and what pvp is there is completely optional. Its gameplay is similar to WoW, but you might find a more mature roleplaying community.

 

Another game to recommend is the Saga of Ryzom, but to be honnest, its gameplay is not as good and its not the most populated of all games.

I no long play it. And when I say I cannot stand the players, I meant all of them. I never joined a guild that I liked. As for time, it was for a bit over 2 years. And it was not a WoW "Flame", just voicing my opinion for the bloody game, but thank you. Looking into the "Mature" servers has no point, because all servers lack role play, which, if you read what I said in context, and not trying to cut it apart as a flame, you'd see that that is what I was looking for. Thank you for the quick responce, though.
