First off, sex and masturbation are not the same thing, sex is genital to genital contact between two or more people, masturbation is mostly a solo act. But yes they produce the same result.
Then again so does noctural emission, and that only results if you produce more sperm than your body can reabsorb when the sperm dies, yes the male human can reabsorb sperm cells, so if you have low enough sperm production, or high enough absorbsion rate, you really don't need to ejaculate ever.
