I will be running polls every week to see what people would like to have added to the game. I will pass the results to the developers and who knows what might happen, maybe nothing, maybe I'll get banned for emailing them too much, or maybe they will add something because of the results.

Well, i prefer another feature:
Interface changing, there are threads about it;
1. I would like specificaly an [goto] button on galaxy minimap;
2. And an way to know if the system i just got in for 1st time has starport. (still using the minimap/radar area)
(these one could be substitued by making the radar zoomable or just show entire system)
There should be gameplay improvments before actually adding new stuff like weapons, ships... In my opinion.
One thing I wouldnt mind seeing is a bit more feedback in the game itself. A lot of the information provided in the Starpedia is rather vague and I'd like to see the direct values displayed in the game itself.
For instance, on my colonies, I'm told that their morale is "increasing" but never by how much. Also, some representation as to how quickly the population on a colony is increasing would be nice, even if it's just a generalized value over the day.
I know I'm a bit of a powerplayer and this request for more information is just to suit my style of play, but I'm sure that there are a lot of other players that wouldnt mind seeing more of the game information displayed to them as they're playing.
I would like to see more aliens because those green something and octopus-looking spider are making me nervous (don't you?).

honestly I would like to see more modulatiry in the ships ... seperate them out to hull {which has diffrent slot values for everything}warp engines, weapons, cargo, turbines {which give diffrent rates of energy rebuild}, thrusters, and modules {where misc stuff can go like shield generators or ramscoops}

play the game StarFlight for Sega Genesis, loads of ideas there and it is such an awesome game, too bad it died before its time. I am sure if it was re-released today for say XBOX or PS2 or PC it would do awesome.
From the first list posted here, all of the above, more of everything... more missions, more ores and items to ship for cargo including some super rare thing that only shows at random like adamcarbomantium type element that sells for $5K each and is needed to finish the indestructable planetary defense system (IPDS), with this in place not a single player can overtake this planet, only one of these per player/corp is allowed on each game. This would allow for someone to keep at least one of their colonies without having all 10 taken over in one night and you have 10 warp fuel and $1000 on hand in your escape pod...

There should definitevely be more ship hardware that can be placed into slots. Aliens are okay for now but they get rather repetitive after a while. As for the warp fuel, at least raising the regen rate to 1 or making it vary depending on the ship you're using would be good. Maybe even removing warp fuel on a server or two could be a good idea (It would be more fast-paced, no need to logout because you can't go anywhere unless you wait for 10 minutes).
Dear developers, if you need ideas for anything in that game, I'm pretty sure that almost 90% of the people hanging in these forums (Including myself) will be glad to help a bit.

I'd like to see more NPCs. In particular, it'd be nice to see some NPCs in the fringes of the galaxy with ships and weapons that players can't get, that give a lot tougher fights. Right now, once I'm in a good ship it's pretty easy to go 1 on 6 or more with NPCs, even ones in sethdars/IG/ISCs. I would, of course, like to see bigger rewards from fighting them, but first there needs to be ones challenging enough to justify greater rewards.
I have to heartily agree with Whytewolf. More customization of ships! Every ship in the game has exactly eight hardward bays. Boo! This should be customizable (at the expense of fuel consuption, speed, or turning, etc.)
I'd also like to have the ability to change my ship's energy allocation on the fly. More power to sheilds, for instance, at the expense of thrust or weapon fire (a la Starfleet Battles).
But mostly, I'd like there to be enough options, and mutually exclusive choices, to force some real strategy into the build of my our ships. As it is now, you're nobody until you have the tired old "Seth and grav beam" configuration, usually with at least 2 superconductors.

I think is good the way it is now and if we would ad more stuff maybe we could enlarge the game at whole?
I mean that games should last longer... Not for ever but maybe 2 months or so.
If there is a hardware problem why not close one or more games to provide servercapacity for the bigger one?
Of course some things would have to change... Colonies should be harder to capture ( a special flak only for large colonies even better then solar cannon maybe? ) also there should be some more features to personalise your ship ( colors? ) Maybe a corp-color-combination? Think about it...
