Gargh!!

My eyes bleed every time I check my email.  I have been awaiting an invite into the beta for monthes.  Is it possible that I wont be accepted because i plan on playing on a laptop (Easily noticable because of the "geforce go 7400" label in my dxdiag.txt file)?

So I guess my question is, has anyone been accepted into the beta with a middle of the road pc?  I just can't wait any longer, everytime I have a new e-mail in my inbox I freak and pray to god that its a WAR beta invite... but it always ends up being "a friendly reminder from windows live mail team" (psch... those bastards at M$)

I've heard that quite a few people never got an email, but they just happened to check their beta center and it said that they had been invited.

So go check out your beta center app and see if you just never got an email.

Keep checking the beta center, not your email.  Most people haven't been invited simply due to the fact that there are a ton of applicants and only so many spots.  I feel your pain, but there is nothing left to do other than just wait and continue to check your status on a weekly basis.  Good luck!

At last count, they reported 400,000 applicants for the beta.

How did you find out your application #?

    Edit:

Also, are they also giving beta's to current DAoC active players as well?  I thought they had said something previously about that as well and wasn't sure if that had changed.  I know there was nothing to show that I was a current subscriber.

The number I posted was in jest, There is no way to know what number your application is. Its just a number anyway.

I am unaware of any selective process for giving DAOC accounts preference into the beta. I do know that a few of the old pendragon players (test server) are in. Long term Pendragon players had access to the internal daoc pendragon boards. But I doubt they would give preference DAOC general players accounts to WoW...they want people to play DAOC still :P

There is a beta count ticker located on www.warhammeronline.com

It gets updated everytime they sent out a round of invites.  I think its about 440,000 now

Thanks for response.  I wasn't sure if it was my imagination or simply wishful thinking that my long time membership to DAoC would give me an additional edge/opportunity to get a WAR beta.  Though I am not as worried now, I would like to play it, but I don't mind waiting since then I can experience the game with my gaming companions from Camelot.  And I will be keeping my DAoC account active.  Actually, I am hoping that they do something cool like package the subs together in some way.   Not just to save me money, mostly because I feel that DAoC is such a great game that it would help draw people into it as well that begin playing WAR.  In that way, maybe they keep from loosing some people who get WAR and decide it's not to their liking, but find that they enjoy DAoC.  But again, probably just wishful thinking on my part.

You need to check your Beta account on the official website.

THEY WON'T SEND YOU ANY EMAIL

440,686 ... is the current number on the WAR official site.

    Okay, now here's my luck.

    Hypothetical example:

400,000 people get invited to beta.

I won't be one of them.
