EQ 2. Incredible graphics. HORRIBLE moving animations, lol.

Download part 1. Watch the moving animations as the barbarian and crew move up to fight. I have never laughed so hard.

Im a fanboi of the game and I cant wait to test it out. Just , something about the animations seem off. Ive noticed, in several videos that the animations just seem like they are in slow-mo. Certain NPCs and certain races move perfectly. Others move like they are stiff boards with strings attached.

    Thats not something thats a big deal to fix.  I remember when they changed the run animation in EQ1.  The game is STILL in beta anyway, they gotta have something to show the public.

    Other then the initial walk up, the rest of the animations are top notch. Just watch the monk. Look how fluid it all looks. Even the Barb moves smooth during combat. For all we know the player could have had "sneak" on in the beginning (see how everyone else is running but the DE and Barb...).

    But like how Ramadin said, The game is in Beta. It has acouple more months prior to release. It can change ALOT. I mean EQ1 looked and ran completely different in beta compared to release...

      They are still tweaking the movement on most of the races. But so far the animations walk incredibly smooth, just like in real life.

    I like the movement animations. Especially, for the Scout class. I remember that video where the party was fighting the Nightbloods, and the scout got knocked down, and then she flipped herself back up. That made me wanna be a scout so bad...image

    LOL! You're right, that was pretty darn funny!  Well at least EQ2 was able to provide some humorous entertainment!

    The combat is amazing though.  If you parry an attack you actually see the parry, dodge actually dodge and what not.  The scout actually drew her sword which I thought was a small but neat touch to see.  They claim to have done motion capture with expert swordsman, martial artists, etc to do the motion.  However, that barbarian did need some work I will agree but overall I think the animations look pretty good.

    As ramadin said, the game is still in beta. Every other movement in that video was realistically awesome.

    Im sure the barbarian and dark elf had their reasons for the way they were running, as someone said it could be sneaking which is very possible but if it is i hope they change it because it is goofy.

    But, it cannot be that hard of a thing to change :P

    Seriously, if the only thing people can complain about is the Barbarian class run animation then this game is going to pwn.

    Yeah I have to second that, or third it now I guess, overall the video looked great and they have plenty of time to smooth out that little bit there.

     Indeed, they hired the martial artist doing the special effects from "The Matrix". The combat so far they have down pat, but i think they are still tweaking most of the movements.

     FYI: that scene you were all laughing at? They were in battle stance, you don't walk like that normally throughout the game. Once you equip your weapon and shield (like the barbarian did) you start to walk in a more cautious manner.

    Lord of the Flies was originally a book actually, and had you read it you might have understood the meaning of that post.
