    GTFO with the cookies

Cookies are just pretenders anyways.  Highly over rated, and very pretencious.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

I only eat pie when it comes with a side of brownie... so which do i click?

You kinda biased the results when you stated what you expected the results to be

  • EmberRainEmberRain Member Posts: 73

You have to pick one!  I don't really think the results are biased, as they are not turning out the way I expected them, nor are there enough female votes to even weigh what I expected.  Oh well!  No matter what anyone else feels and/or votes on the topic, brownies will always be #1 to me!

  • IlliusIllius Member UncommonPosts: 4,142

How bout this?  Have the brownies be the filling of the pie?  That way you can have the best of both worlds.  I don't know why anybody hasn't thought of this before.

I'm all about the pie.  Flakey crust, that brief, jolting moment as you slice in - I'm not so big on the fruit fillings, but a chocolate or pumpkin pie beats out an ugly heavy brownie anyday!

I think you're on to something Illius, I could go for a brownie pie!!

  • SunderSunder Member Posts: 334

Hmmm, I am not sure now which thread would get better response, so I guess I will post in both this one and mine!  Now that we see Pie is the obvious king, who has a good recipe?!  (EmberRain, take notes.  You will need to make the best one for me *Cracks his whip*)

Brownies and a glass of milk,,, does'nt get better than that.

  • IlliusIllius Member UncommonPosts: 4,142

If EmberRain is making you pie, why don't you just tell her what you want in it.  I figure if you get everything you want in it, that should by default make it the "best" pie for you.

Oh, and EmberRain see Taera is a female and she likes pie.  I guess you're on your own even though the female representation is growing.  What say you to that?

Well Illius, as I mentioned to Sunder in response to how this vote is going,  apparently men have more sense than I thought!  They are choosing brownies far more often than I would have expected.  When I last checked, woman still preferred brownies 2 to 1 over pie, so I am not displeased. ;)

As far as the best pie recipe, I deem this the one:

    Cream Cheese Brownie Pie

1/2 pkg. (15 oz.) ready-to-use refrigerated pie crust (1 crust)

1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

    1/4 cup sugar

    3 eggs, divided

    6 squares BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine

    2/3 cup sugar

    1 tsp. vanilla

    1 cup flour

    1 square BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate, melted

1 square BAKER'S Premium White Baking Chocolate, melted

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Prepare crust as directed on package, using 9-inch pie plate. Beat cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar and 1 of the eggs in medium bowl until well blended; set aside.

MICROWAVE 6 squares semi-sweet chocolate and the butter in large microwavable bowl on HIGH 2 minutes or until butter is melted; stir until chocolate is completely melted. Add 2/3 cup sugar; mix well. Blend in remaining 2 eggs and the vanilla. Stir in flour until well blended. Spread half of the brownie batter into crust. Carefully spread cream cheese mixture over brownie batter in crust; cover with remaining brownie batter.

BAKE 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out with fudgy crumbs. Cool completely on wire rack. Drizzle with melted chocolates.

     Mmmm, whips... stop teasing me!

    Sunder started it!!

  • IlliusIllius Member UncommonPosts: 4,142

Someone should tell Sunder that he needs to finish what he starts, or not to start what he can't finish.

You have way too much time on these Forums EmberRain.  You need to be in a kitchen or something.

As much as I hate to admit it, I would rather be home baking you a pie than be at work lurking on the forums.... but alas, I am stuck here until 4:00.  BLEK!

What the hell!  I want a job that pays me money to surf the interwebs!!  When ever I go to work insted of being bored face the chance of getting electrocuted...

You need to move to the U.S. and get a job working for state government - nothing ever gets accomplished workwise so you have lots of time for extracurricular activities. ;)

  • IlliusIllius Member UncommonPosts: 4,142

I'm pretty sure the Canadian Government is just like that.  The thing is if I were to work in the office I'd either shoot myself from boredom or throw myself from the roof of the building I'd be working in.  Only thing that would save me is if there were some lovely female co-workers that would be willing to partake in extracurricular activities with me in the janitors closet where nobody would bother us.

You mean bake a pie with you?  I don't think a good pie can be made in the janitor's closet.

So there are all these so called pie lovers voting for pie, yet not one of them has offered a recipe???  Hah!  I call shenanigans!
