Looks to me like they are actually starting to copy (good) stuff from one of their own games, as in EQ2 instead of redoing everything from scratch to make a WoW-clone. *shrugs* It's a start. Although what I rrrreally want is new content. I mean big style, not just a quest line here, a dungeon there. And about beastmastery - it's only fun and engaging if you have 3 accounts and all professions or are in a big guild. Otherwise you are too dependent on getting the stuff for in depth beastmastery. Nothing wrong in that, that is how interaction in a MMO should be, but if if there aren't any players engaged in that..... And no, I didn't use the forums, if the game mechanis work , it should work ingame and not by posting and praying.
They have been copying stuff from the start of the NGE. Thats the only way they can come up with any content. Big joke to me really, if they sticked with the old game style/idea, they would have had a game of their own. Not a lame copy of WoW and EQ2 together, packed in a SW skin
As for the collecting thingy, fun for a week or 2 and then its old. So much for the great idea...
They took an excellent skill system and made a hokey class system out of it.
This game is still the biggist POS ever foisted on a playerbase bar none. The game is a slim shadow of what it was and no matter how you try to dress it up, it will still be an extremely weak contender in this marketplace. What an extreme waste of dev funds.
"A Beast Master might even learn a new trick to show their pet, such as teaching the beast to dance and entertain! " We could already do that as CH's!
I like the system of searching for the bits and pieces to make stuff, but still not enough to make me come back. (no I'm not a hater ex-player, got over that a long time ago). There's just still not enough left of the old system to bring me back.
The original CH tricks are already part of Beast Master. Although it depends on what they consider to be "dance and entertain", Pets could never dance with CH.
That’s not true, All pets could be taught to do at lest 2 dances Pre-cu.
Nope, those were called tricks and as I mentioned, these are already part of Beast Master
Semantics. Tricks, dances. what ever. We already had them. Your spinning. Adding more is just that, adding more.

Here's what i really dont understand...I was around pre-9 and did some holos and such and ended up being a WS since i did not like the fact that the richest player is the strongest player in combat. Lets face it the old system was broken and it pissed people off. IMO anyone who thinks the game is weak and not as fun has not vested enough time into it and forgets how the old system really was.
The fact is the game has got some cool content and becoming strong isnt just a buy gold to be awesome mmo. The GCW is decent needs more content but unless your into your servers base busts weekly you gotta work for rank. The imperial Theme Park has just been redone and now it gives you swamp trooper armor. There have been so many improvments in the last 6 months I could fill a page listing them all. My advice is if your a star wars fan or an NGE refugee get yourself into a decent guild and really understand what is there for you. The system is complex. Also Auto AIm is what brought me back so get that set up early. The game interface and keymapping can be placed EXACTLY as it was pre nge. I was at this years fan faire and there is a lot more stuff coming. So strap in and Enjoy its gonna be fun.

Not only is he spinning, but the tricks are no longer trained by the player, they require expertise points to use. Mounts no longer do tircks, period. The tricks CAN have a gameplay purpose, but that's random now. Tricks used to be used to heal the pet's mind wounds. But of course the brilliance that was the CU eliminated the mind pool, so tricks served no gameplay function, although they were always fun to watch.
The mounts used to be persistent in the world, after you dismounted, but CH6 eliminated that. Pets now poof when you dismount. The idiots took something away, AGAIN. They do not learn from their mistakes, apologized for or not.
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

Such strong words you use No, I'm not spinning...if the thing makes the pet do a dance then it's called a dance lol.
Mounts were made to dissapear because people were using them to exploit by hiding inside the mounts. This wasn't so bad for those that use target lock, but those that use free targeting had no hope.

Free targeting is one of the reasons the NGE blows bantha chunks. I could care less about free targeteers and their problems. I want to be able to pet my dewback mount and have it lie down. I want to be able to /yell "Hiyo Huey" when my dewback, while I'm in the saddle, does trick1.
I might add that WoW does not have free targeting, yet they impose this same restriction...the only time you see the mount is when you're on it.
I used to use my mounts as combat pets! That's impossible now...mounts have been removed from the world for all practical puposes, another NGE artificiality imposed on the virtual reality that once was SWG.
Once again, they took away something from the players in the name of "balance" that NO ONE ASKED FOR.

Now you're doing what you like to go around accusing SOE of and using words like "idiot" to describe them. You're ignoring a playstyle because you don't like it. Believe it or not, there are a good number of people that do prefer to use the free targeting over the target lock. I even switch to free targeting under different situations.
If it's the RP factor you want, there are ways around it.

The "free targeting" playstyle didn't exist until the abomination called the NGE came along.
THERE IS NO WAY AROUND THIS ISSUE FROM AN RP STANDPOINT. PERIOD.

At this point, free targeting has existed longer then pre-cu so it's as much of the game now as anything else has been. People are used to using it now and their desire to use it isn't any less important because it wasn't around pre-nge.
A workaround that could be done is that you could make a pet that looks like your mount. When you want to dismount, call the pet and it will store the mount and call out the identicle looking pet. No, it won't allow you to do tricks while riding the mount but it gives the effect of having your mount beside you.
