Good review?

Anyone here that actually likes this game? I'm trying to find something to play for the summer while waiting for WoW, EQ2 ect. (like most people) I tried alot game trials and i sorta narrowed it down to ac2 or horizons. Would be great to hear from a experienced player. (I dont want to hear ranting :p)

Thanks

Both games are one foot in the grave. Highest population on a server for AC2 that I've seen is about 500 600 at primetime on a weekend. the pvp servers I think hit 70 people or so at primetime.

I was in beta for Horizons, and checked out the free trial to see if they actually coughed up the magical client they spoke of in beta. You know, the one with all the content, no bugs, no lag, etc., etc. Only thing I can think to say about Horizons is that it's worse than Shadowbane, unless you're into crafting, and even that was mindless, and repetitive.

If you just want an MMO for the summer, I would suggest City of Heroes, unless you're really anti-superhero... Very easy to solo with the Blaster archetype, getting a group isn't difficult. There are some seriously creative people in the community. And it's not as time intensive as EQ, DAoC, etc. No pvp til the expansion comes out early next year, though. Best character costume customization options ever, even if they missed a few obvious things. Overall a good game, though I don't see it having the longevity of UO, EQ, or DAoC.

Have to say good advice. I havent played Hoizons for a few months now but the forums tell me there are still tons of issues.  AE may well be on their last legs. Once WOW and EQII are out I cant see it surviving.

COH seems to have been very well recieved. Maybe a lite MMORPG but fun non the less
