I might want to return to the great world of AC

in Asheron's Call

Asherons Call was my first MMO and the only reason I left was for AC2 then I explored other fields.  I was wondering though if it was too late to return to the world and restart there, and if so do I just get the Throne of Destiny which would have everything and is it for Vista?  Also what is the state of the world and servers?  Thanks!

    It is not officially Vista compatible, but it does work with some messing around.

    The best way to start the game is to download the free trial and create an account. When the trial ends, just continue your subscription for $12.95 a month. You will have full access to the game and don't have to buy the retail box.

    If you expect to play for 3 months or more, you might also consider paying in advance, which will save you a couple dollars.

    Darktide is the most populated server. The rest of the servers are fairly close population-wise, except for Verdantine, which has very few players.

     There still isnt any MMO that is as kool as AC. I want to go back but problem is when they moved everything to a new server for some reason I couldnt get mine moved and missed out. As much as I want to go back  I dont want to start all over. I miss my old character with my uber blood sucking swords.  I wish they would have preserved me....

    How long ago did you play? I started playing again January this year after a three year absence. You need to know your Zone name, server name, and a character name to get your account back. http://turbine.fuzeqna.com/asheronscall/consumer/kbdetail.asp?kbid=1289

    ok but how do i get it to work with vista and if i buy the new game is it the whole stand alone edition or do I somehow have to fin dother previous ones?  I am almost positive I will go back to asherons call because, honestly, it is just so good and amazing compared to a lot of crappy immature MMOs out there now.  The next new gen MMO I am looking at however is Age of Conan.

    Damn wish I'd known sooner, I am going to see if they can resurrect my old school account from 1999.
