To the greatest game ever till it was screwed up beyond all hope I toast in your memory! non will be like you ever again. To smed: Buddy thanks a lot for all that you have accomplished I've never seen so much hatred towards one person, I personally hope Hell exist for you buddy and that you spend an eternity there with the rest of us Old SWG vets showing you just how much you messed with us and what you took away.

I just googled trying to find this exact same post; if I recall correctly it was posted on the SWG forums shortly after CU...
This was my first MMO and I fell in love with the complexity and versatility of it. I loved the fact that once you picked a profession you weren't tied down into it; you could "forget" skills and learn new ones to your heart's content without creating a new character.
Many of the items were crafted by players, and the best items were created by the best crafters. Having to shop for deals from fellow players was almost an epiphany, because it added a whole new atmosphere to the game; one in which almost every profession depended on each other to achieve their goals.
When I played, my best friend was probably the best doctor on our server, while I was just a mere combat class. He would sit for hours in the Coronet spaceport making a ton of money buffing other players while they waitied for a shuttle. Then we made a mutual friend, a Rodan to whom my doctor friend paid money to keep the queue in a straight line. It was hilarious watching this tiny Rodan bully around wookies and trandoshans twice his size by telling them to move a couple of steps over or else they wouldn't get a buff.
I miss what it was. I lament what it could have been.
You know, sometimes when I was travelling on my way to Jabba's palace in the middle of the tattooine desert, I would stare out into the night sky and just look in awe at how awesome the sky and the stars looked, and if it was night time, I would get a glimpse of two star destroyers orbitting the planet It was soooo awesome. It's funny how even the little things in a game can get you. Granted, this hasn't been removed from the game(I've resubbed in the past during the NGE to see the improvements... but then would quit) but when I saw it again, it just didn't have any meaning anymore, it just reminded me of the good times I had hunting during the pre-cu.
When I saw them and stared in awe the first time during CU, it was me and a group of 6 speeding across the desert with our bikes to avoid incoming laser blasts from the nearby mobs. It was intense! we were zig zagging our way through houses and harvesters, doing our best to outrun the mobs, it was a heck of a time. But the last time I saw the two behemoths orbitting Tattooine, I was all alone, I ended up feeling like Luke in Ep 4, like the last man logged on in tattooine. Pretty sad considering Tattooine was a hot bed for hunters who were looking for a good challenge (Krayts of course... which always scared the crap out of me whenever I saw one up close.)
Smedley... SWG's days are numbered LA has finally joined forces with Bioware. You better believe I'll be there when the evil empire (SWG: NGE) falls and the old galactic republic (KOTOR:O) is restored anew.
I remember being out on Dantooine, I had no idea at the time how to become a Jedi. I was out with my RL brother, was finishing up a Mission with him, at which point I would have mastered Swordsman. We finished it up, and I mastered swordsman. Then all the sudden, I see this message flash across the holonetwork. "Attention Citizens, this is an Imperial Holo Alert. Lord Vader has detected a disturbance in the force. Someone has been detected using force powers. If you see or find this person, you are ordered to report this violation to the nearest Imperial Offfice near you." Everyone was like, what's going on. Even I was talking to my bro on TS like, WTF is that man. A few moment's later I got this message popup. Congratulations! You have become one with the force! On behalf of the SOE Team we would like to congratulate you on your new powers, and your new rank of Jedi Initiate! I was like OMG No way. I noticed I had gotten a new bar underneath my mind pool I was like wtf is that. I had become a Jedi as of patch 6. I remember the first time I ignited my saber. Oh how I would love to go back to those days. Writing this post almost made me cry. If they ever bring back PRE CU SWG....I will be back to playing in a heartbeat. For now, RIP my beloved SWG.
Erm, sorry, but what you describe is not how Jedi was unlocked prior to pub 9.
Your main character, the one you mastered all the professions with, stayed the same.
You instead had a new character slot open up that was force sensitive and could start earning Jedi XP.
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

But...all good things...
I totally agree with the OP's startout post, also hate him for it though.
Brings back so many memories , Dantooine MO , Corellia , the doctor's sitting around for a chat, my old beloved TKM build ...
I miss pre-CU

Smedley wont bring it back even if every single one of the SWG players told him to do so.
I dont see the point of begging him for the good'ol days back?
Like it or not. SWG is dead, and they dug their own grave.
