You haven't appeared to have really given EVE a trial.  Might be a good time to do so..and hey, its free for 15 days.

What makes it so different from all the rest?  If you join up with a 0.0 corporation, the focus shifts to one major goal..... staking a claim on a piece of space, building and fortifying that piece of space with bases, bubbles, mining and manufacturing facilities, and most important of all, gearing up for the inevitable war that will take place as others try to take all your hard work away from you.

It really is a totally different approach to MMORPG gaming as you seem to have experienced...... so maybe its for you....

I started 4 months ago and have been actively engaged in everything I described for 1.5 months now...and I was a slow starter.....

OP, you're not alone.  There are plenty of us that are just completely bored with MMOs.   I mean, you have a period of what, about 10 years, and the genre has barely evolved.  So far, all we have are the big companies with money, but no creativity, and the little companies, with creativity, but no money.

Right now, the problem is that most MMOs dont offer anything that you cant find in a good single player or multiplayer game.  The only feature that even comes close is the "Massive" part, but thats mostly just a sham.  Sure, servers can hold thousands of players at one time, but when the game is entirely linear and static, theres really no point in interacting with each other.  Find a small group, go out, quest/grind, then go level.  How exactly is that different from a single/multiplayer rpg?  Its not.  The only real difference is that the rpg is 10 times better at it.

So, for the time being, just check out Hellgate when it launches.  At least the gameplay will be interesting...

Sounds like GameLoading is right, however if you like playing online with people then maybe an online compatable game is your thing?  My suggestion is to get a game you think you would or know you would like for the PC or a console you have right now that is able to be played online with other people and try that.  MMOs are just too big a stretch to some people.
