Man what a wuss. Odysseus lasted 20 years while facing angry gods, witches and cyclopses.  People today aren't trying hard enough.

If you are not being responded to directly, you are probably on my ignore list.

I saw him on the news last night, pretty long journey.  He got hit by a drunk driver at one stage while on land and had both his legs broken, took him 9 months to recover.

Sounds like it was a pretty rough trip in parts.

That's amazing!  They say you should make the best of your early years, and this guy definitely followed that.  Wow, imagine how good he felt as he crossed the finish line.

Sounds like a huge waste of your life to me.

Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. ... There's a bad moon on the rise.

Tip to every homeless person out there:

Just tell people you're on a "man powered trip around the world". You'll be adored, which will be a nice change from being regarded as the scum of the earth.

I will agree that it is a hell of an accomplishment, but why?

The man just spent a hefty chunk of his life doing something absolutely worthless to himself and the rest of the world. Sure, he's talking about education and a number of worthwhile goals, but every single one of them could be achieved with far greater efficiency, IE without the more than a decade long trip.

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

Everybody has their own personal goal(s). Will it be ok for him to shit on whatever it is you have done or wantt to do?
