EverQuest II: Beta Contest Info

UPDATED @ 7:20PM EST - Less than 2 hours remain until we draw the 20 tickets for the EQ2 beta contest.  As a reminder - only the first 10 people to claim these tickets will win a beta slot.  The remaining 10 will not win anything.

Because we are expecting a large number of people on the site at this time, we will be running the contest from an off-site server.  We have created a status page on this server that you can use to view the list of winners in the event the main servers become overloaded.  You can access this page here : http://contests.mmorpg.com/eq2_winners.cfm

If your username appears on this list after 9PM EST - check your mailbox (it will be sent to your main e-mail account as well as your MMORPG.COM mailbox) for your winning ticket and prize claiming instructions!

    Also, when you say off-site, do you just mean the list of winners? To validate the ticket do you just follow the normal stuff?

    We will draw the prizes from an offsite server, you can view the winners offi-site and winners will claim them on an off-site page.  This means even if the main servers explode we are good to go image

    I think we are going to see record numbers around here today...so better to be well prepared...right?

    LOL - I am already gasping at the thought that I will need to install another one soon image  We are working towards having 2 web servers and a stand alone DB server (currently one web server and one db server) - this will give us load balancing and failover "peace of mind" image

    You will have to check your e-mail if you are a winner (either your main mailbox or MMORPG.COM mailbox - we send it to both).  If you get an e-mail (if you win) you will find a link in that message telling you where to go claim your prize and a ticket number that you will to use to claim it.

    MY only hope is if I am ONE of the lucky 20 and then 10 others go to people who really do not care if they beta this game or not - there-by leaving me plenty of time to get my name in ... IF I happen to get ONE of the 20 that is ... you realize it is like a 1 in 3500 chance to get invite ?  give or take a few hundred ....

    Good Luck YOu all and IF you get an invite I hope YOU are one of the first 10 to respond ...

     

    IF for some odd reason I do not make it into this round - I have applied on the offical website LONG ago for an EQII beta spot ... there is still hope if this fails .............

     

    I hope more chance then I have had so far with WOW beta ... that one I put in also the day it was available .. still no word .... lot and lots of my friends have there wow beta and All I can do is go over to their house and watch them play ... sigh ...

    Look to the stars to know HE is with us. HE hung them as markers, of times and of seasons.

    I have never been one with the odds. At least I will feel a little better than the 10 that got picked but didn't reply fast enough. Also, did you see that 2 people confirmed at the exact time? Down to the second. Crazy.

    Hehe me neither...I won the Saga of Ryzom contest but that was 500 winners of 1000 hehe so odds were pretty good.

    And yeah the 2 that had the exact same confirmations is pretty funny, I am just surprised all 10 are not confirmed yet hehe

    I sorta had the same thought, but Real Life has a way of messing with the online one hehe....just think how bummed you be if you were one of the 20 and something came up that kept you from confirming hehe...I would rather just not be one of the 20 image

    I don't really care how long they have been here, I actually won the first contest I entered, which was about a month from when I signed up. It's just I've never seen any of those names before so I guess they all recently signed up for a chance to get into the beta.
