There will always be twinking as long as you have alts, thats why the RP servers on EQ use to only allow you one character....... Yes your always leveling but that pretty much goes for WoW and Everquerst 2 as well. And just because you get xp for pvp does not mean people wont twink... Some people have to have the best of everything for their secondary characters, it does not matter if it will be useless in one or two lvls, they have to have that rare blue item for their lvl 5 character. A lot of you are use to WoW where twinking was problematic in PVP, but you must remember WoW did not start the twinking phenomenon, check out EQ, DoAC, SWG, and just about every other MMO out there... heck people twink in freaking PAPER RPGs.... I hate to inform you: there will be twinks, and lots of them.
You get XP from every player you kill so it will severely limit the amount of twinkers. You'll only be able to twink your character for a few levels before having to start a new character again. If the best items are BoP it will take a lot of time to farm them and if BoE they will constantly be spending good amount of money to buy them. I don't think there are that many players willing to spend that much time and effort on a new character every few days.

I did mention the fact that it will only be a few lvls that the twinked gear will be good, but you'd be delusional if you thought that PVP xping will stop twinking in general.
I've seen players work days on a bug/exploit that even gave them a slight advantage and only for a few hours until someone figured out how to conteract it.
People are people and gamers are gamers: They will exploit any advantage and twinking is an advantage
I also love the Chicken rule And I sure hope they come up with a good idea to deal with twinking.. Im tired of facing twinked out characters (Anarchy ONline and WOW). Perhaps but a level limit on people, items, gear like say if your lvl 39 you cannot have +15 on both your wpns for example.
you cant twink in WAR since twinking is getting the best gear FOR A CERTAIN LVL. in war you cannot stop lvling and since you get XP from PVP you'll lvl regardless therefore twinking is bye bye
You know, the funny thing is that at GenCon, when I asked if you would be able to suspend the generation of experience they said they were looking at putting that in as there had been a lot of requests. Some players prefer to play in the mid levels and love to get to a point where their characters have the best gear they can in the tier they are in. Also, it allows players who play more often to keep their character in the same level-range as friends who do not play as often.
Until the game comes out I will never be convinced that players will not be able to suspend experience. There are way too many arguments for it.
my big question, one I have not yet been able to figure out or find an answer to...
When a city is captured, it will be looted and pillaged and razed etc.
Eventually, stronger and stronger NPCs spawn to kick out invaders, that is, if the defending players don't do it first, and then city goes back to it's original control.
Then what happens?
Does the tier 4 zone right before the city stay in enemy hands? Does the neutral zone change back to neutral?
I guess what I'm asking is, will there be a reset?
The reason I ask is simple.
If you don't reset AT LEAST the neutral zone and tier 4 zone before the city, there will be lots of city zerging. Capture it, leave and wait for it to switch back, capture it again, wait for it to switch, capture it again... etc.
BUT, they've stated many times that control of Tier 1 effects control of Tier 2, Tier 2 effects Tier 3, etc.
If you have a total reset, all tiers go back to un-controlled. But who does the fighting in the lower Tiers? You can't go back because you'll turn into a chicken, and what if the games been out for a while and the low end zones become empty? Who will fight for tier 1-3? Will you have to make new characters?
If tier 1-3 don't reset and only tier 4 does, then what's the point of having tier 1-3 effect the control of tier 4?
If they DO allow you to stop leveling, They'll HAVE to make it so all 4 tiers reset. That way, you can make characters for each tier, stop the tier 1-3 from leveling, and once control is reset after a city capture, you log onto your alts and help win that Tier for your faction.
Anyone got an answer? I've never been able to figure this out...

Unless its a a Guildwars type scenario (armor/weapons not that important in PVP) then this is a really bad idea, it will be WoW all over again but worse, since the twinks will be able to influence thethe course of RvR and city sieges
BTW I'm not completely against twinking as long as all players - not just ones with maxxed characters who can pump thousands of gold pieces into their twinks - have a reasonable shot at equipping their lower level characters. WOW's biggest twink issue IMHO was allowing certain high level enchants to be used by 20-level characters, effectively allowing them to one-shot every non-twink on the battlefield. Obviously, these enchants were far too expensive for any but high level characters or those who buy gold.
If Mythic makes War a less gear-dependent game and prohibits lowbies from using top weapons/enchants, I won't care if people keep low level characters to fight for Tier 1-3 control. Heck, as an alt-a-holic I might join them in the endeavor.
