Nope, this is the person everyone should vote for and the one who doesn't get much air time because of his views.

I've heard about him, but not too much seeing as I'm British. What I wanna know is that if he got elected into office and pulled back the entire American military, then what would become of nations that rely completely on the US for military protection such as Iceland.

They no longer rely on us for protection.  We closed the Nato Base in September of 2006.  (I know because I transferred from Keflavik Iceland)

    3. Federal funding of scientific research should be abolished.  Of course it should be.  All excess federal programs should be abolished.  The Federal Government was intended to provide postal services, armed forces in a time of war, highways, and that is about it.

    4. The Dept. of Education should be abolished.  Same as above

    5. The Dept. of Energy should be abolished.  Same as above

    6. The EPA should be abolished.  Same as above

    7. Medicare should be abolished.  Same as above

    8. Federal welfare should be abolished.  Same as above

    9. Taxation should be regressive.  Same as above

    10. The IRS should be abolished.  Same as above

The man is an idiot.  No the man knows what the constitution says that our federal government is allowed to do.

Pretty much all of Ron Paul's ideas are right in line with our Constitution.  Nothing he wants to get rid of is constitutionally legal.  He wants to bring the Government back to where it should be.   Back before FDR messed up this government and our nation.

I actually appreciate Cabe clarifying Ron Paul's position on many issues.

Cabe is right about FDR and the growth of government.  If you ever happen to attend a wealthy or ivy league university, have you asked yourself why they are all so liberal?  Why do seemingly wealth students from wealthy families profess a faith and allegiance to the New Deal?  There are winners and losers with the growth of "big government."  Today, the alliance between "big government" and "big business" is the most troublesome development I know of since this country's founding.  I think it will cost taxpayers more money and generate more suffering than any previous war combine.  It is a strange situation of  "big healthcare" and "big business" and "big government" all taking advantage of the taxpayer.

I am a capitalist.  Many "big business" policies such as subsidies for well established corporations are, in my view, anti-capitalist.  E.g., money to factories farms, loan discounts, tax credits, you name it.  The small farmer, ironically, cannot compete with it all.  And accessibility to farm benefits is not easy.  However, many smaller and certainly farms owned by major corporations have taken advantage of this.  It is but one Ex.

    That is just total bs.

Without federal funding for research this country would be even worse off than it is.

In most ways this country is so far behind other countries it's pathetic.

The EPA should be abolished?  We don't have enough problems with the environment so let's just trash the Earth all the way.

Abortion should have never been a politcal issue, it should be up to the individuals involved.

Do any of you realize that some states are way poorer than others? Do any of you care when disasters strike other states?

I can't speak for anyone other than myself, but, no.

I live in one state. I could give two shits what, say, New York has got going on, unless they're invading. Same goes for the other 48 states.

Edit: Still doesn't change the fact that Ron Paul isn't going be winning anything for the same reasons I posted at the beginning of this thread.
