Originally posted by Consequence I wish people who dont like the game wouldnt come in and attack it so viciously because what they dont realize is it hurts the industry because developers see this and try to take the "please everyone" mentality. Whats wrong with saying the game just isnt for me, and wishing the game sucess?
Because the more we lower our expectations and allow developers to roll unfinished, shallow, funless pieces of poo out the door and charge us over the odds for the permission to engage in an extended pay-to-test public bete, the lazier the developers will become and the more they will continue to trundle out substandard offerings with th eepectation that the mugs will cupport them financially while they eventually (one hopes) complete the work that should have been done before the game went into open beta.
That this hurts the industry? No. There are companies out there who do not try to pull the wool over their player's eyes with the 'trust us, it can only get better' line.
That this hurts the developers/publishers of a particular game? Yes, of course, and that is the intended result. Destination Games and NCSoft deserve to lose their shirts on this pile of fetid elephant dung. That is the only way they will possibly learn not to insult the players intelligience and next time, perhaps they will actually roll out a finished project that has some actual depth to it.
If the world was full of fanbois, everything would be crap, the devs would never know just how badly they've f****d up, and Vanguard would've been a success
Thankfully we seem to have the fanbois outnumbered 2-1

Owned. 52.7% wont be playing, goes to show the game sucks as a fact
And reason for this intelligent and childish post was??
No, i wont be playing game at release. It still feels too much normal lvl based game with little new features. I dont want to do pointless quests just to advance, i hope they bring more that "war" aspect to this game than now.
Have to see in few months what updates will bring along.
This game was one I was / am excited about. Besides being a Sci-fi mmo I have been looking for a game that felt like there was an actual NPC invasion. Vanguard has an invasion story line but nothing happens. I was really hoping that TR would have that manic feel about it. I just want an mmo where NPC's take over player cities and really test the player base. So if I get a critical mission that supposedly helps with holding back an invasion I would like to see that happen. Will TR do this now or in the future? Don't know but I am going to wait until after launch.
I don't know, i think this game has potential. I had fun testing it out.
What I personally seemed to enjoy was the war like feeling you get, when you run around the game.
Constant war etc.
But I played in the early closed beta, before the xp penalty was added and a few other things, and at the time the high lvl skills weren't working fully.
Anyway, it was slightly fun to explore the other planets as well, and see some of the quest change slightly.
Of course it has elements from many other mmo's but I still think it will get a nice amount of subscribers to keep it going.
But I will wait for AOC, Huxley and Hellgate london.
I sincerely dont know why people talk badly about this game! They say that in the Beta they saw bugs, few missions and they were very repetitive! Of course they are! Do you think that in a BETA you where going to see the ALL game? Of course not! The Beta is for users have a feeling about the game and for Dev see how the UI, AI and missions react and to control the majority of the bugs. And dont forget that a MMO is always growing. The WOW wasnt the "awesome game"(some people dont agree with this assumption, like me) that is today, he has more than 3 years in processing! So stop bitching about this game! He has lots of potential, we didnt saw all the missions and features in the Beta, for that we have to see the complete game. And dont forget...he will evolve!

Exactly, nuff said. This game needed a gameplay that actually let you see and feel the ongoings of a war, not just through a bunch of cheesy lines of dialogue.
At the moment this feel is TOO weak.
Missions and errands feel too distant from the actual warfare... I think this comes from the fact that this type of missions don't belong to Tabula Rasa, it comes from games that didn't share TR's warlike feeling.
However I appreciated the idea of defense/attack tokens quest, and the targets of opportunity quest. At least It shows a good will to come up with more content for missions, more related to the conflict.

Correction, we complain that in the FINAL stages of beta, there are still GAMEBREAKING bugs, that critical game mechanics (especially scaling) aren't working, that not all the quests that are needed to level in the 30+ game have been implemented yet, that a lot of the 22+ quests are broken, and that the devs STILL haven't worked out how to balance the game (see the HUGE balance changes of the last patch), something most of us agree should have been done in CLOSED beta. Open beta is for stresstesting, minor bugs and baldfaced advertising, not for finding and repairing MAJOR problems.
And where DID you get the silly notion beta is not to test the entire game? Of course it is. There are tons of errors that a QA team won't find, but players will.
This game is NOT ready for release, and it won't be for months, yet they plan to release it in 2 weeks. I for one am not willing to pay for an unfinished product.
I am lucky because a friend is testing this game so I will go on his trusted feedback. However I will wait to late January for some other launches (PoTBS etc) and by that time TR will be pumping strongly or it will be laid next to Vanguard in the mmo cemetary. No PvP content does put me off slightly though.
go get quest, go to waypoint, go to a mob, use that lightning thingy, hold down my left mouse button while I shoot over and over and over and over and over. I'm almost lvl 10 and the amount to skill options is like...nothing. Im still using that lightning thing, and just standing in front of a mob with my shot gun shooting it over and over.
And don't give me the old, "keep lvling it gets better" thing, if a game wants to be good, they need to suck in the player very fast, and continue to expand on that. If i'm not having fun within the first few hours of game play, then I probably won't stick around long.
What is the end game in this game anyway...taking back bases from Bane all day? Sounds like fun.
the game is just bottom line boring. go get quest, go to waypoint, go to a mob, use that lightning thingy, hold down my left mouse button while I shoot over and over and over and over and over. It's true tho, as you go on it DOEs get better, but it's NOT at all the game itself own merit, noway.. it's obvious that the more powerful you see yourself, the more excited you get, and see you can do SCHTUFF. That's the typical process of addiction poor game designing counts on to SELL. It's JUST like drugs, really, at heart. These game designers should be treated like dealers

Yes all MMo's should be treated like crack, but if people dont enjoy what there doing then there not gonna play it... and i dought that game designers solely depend on people getting addicted to there game just to make money.. if the game is good people will pay to play it..

Well at least 16 people are going to play it ::)
As for me... Nah, I'm saving myself for AoC. I just hope it won't screw me over as much as Vanguard did.

Played: Quite a few Mmos
Playing: Something

TR is a great game, and I love the combat dearly.
The lack of PvP focus has just left me uninterested. I feel like I beat the game at level 17.
