SOE: Showcasing new MMOs

The SOE  Media Event Report released upcoming SOE titles including EverQuest II: Rise of Kunark:

Pirates of the Burning Sea is Flying Lab software ´s intriguing massively multiplayer endeavor set in a romanticized depiction of the Caribbean around 1720. Seafaring powers Britain, France and Spain all seek to control the region, as do the buccaneers. Players can set sail to battle for dozens of ports as well as fame and booty. There´s also plenty of action on land, where you can employ skills like dirty fighting and voodoo. Adding the Sarnak, a race of dragon-like humanoids, plus a new starting area, Timorous Deep, EverQuest II: Rise of Kunark is the fourth expansion pack for Sony´s well regarded prequel. The team is raising the level cap from 70 to 80, and implementing abundant content. A notable example is the Kunarkian Rhinoceros, an imposing mount, and of course, there will also be lots of weapons, armor and miscellaneous items to seek, quests to undertake, and places to explore.

EverQuest: Secrets of Faydwer brings a new threat to the respected persistent state world. Commanded by a nefarious gnomish necromancer, Meldrath the Malignant, armies of clockwork creations stand ready to attack the kingdom of Ak´Anon. He has launched a huge air fortress called Mechanotus, an action that has torn up the land, exposing routes into previously unknown regions of Faydwer. Released last month, Legends of Norrath: Oathbound is an online-only trading card game  within the EverQuest property. It may be played from inside either title or separately, and with more than 375 cards currently available, there´s ample scope for diverse strategies. Last week in San Francisco, Sony hosted a media event where the invited guests were able to check out these four products and speak with some of their developers.
