1-people ALWAYS talk about how laggy it is and how they have like all this top of the line bs parts...

I mean well if you have super comp then how come my 64 bit vid card.....512 ram.....1.4ghz comp not lag on that game at all????

2-THERE ARE NO MOBS

Well....i will agree in a sense sometimes it does take awhile to find a mob but usually...when you do there is a big patch of them

3-this game is boring

No it isn't borign in any way..i love the quest system how you can do any quest more then once......that is awesome and keep you busy I mean if that quest gets boring look for another one then.......

4-the craftingsystem sux

omg who ever says that is a moron.....it is awesome....better thenthe whole sit will all the materials and click one button.....with this you have to find all the materials...(mining with a pick at a rock)(cut & skin monsters for skin and pelts) then go to a loom, anvil etc and you have to use multiple place before finishing the product...

I mean like someone said before....GIVE IT A BREAK the game has only been out for so long.......and from what i hear the game is getting alot better.....I mean seriously.....I haven't gotten to play in awhiel because my comp is down(this is dads comp)but I mean when i did play..i had so much fun.....

One last thing i have to say......jsut because you think a game sux.....that does not mean the gameliterally sux...it only sux to "your" standards.....if you want somethign that looks like a tv show...wait for EQ2.......

Flaming the flamers?  Always amusing.  I'll bite.

When talking about lag, there is some need for specificity.  Lag, as such, refers to network latency, which is generally not a big problem in HZ (though in the early months, the server would often desync for a couple minutes at a time, wiping out entire parties).  The issues with HZ have been "combat lag" which might be a networking issue or a server issue, but is not related to your computer speed.  The client had some massive memory leaks, which thankfully they fixed most of a couple months ago, but on a system similar to yours, I once was down to sustained 1.8 fps after letting it run.  There were also bugs where the game would still consider you moving (unable to cast or do other actions) while you were perfectly still, until you flinched your character.

There are avaliable mobs...  now.  With the diminished server population, it probably is easier to find things to kill.  The problem with the mobs isn't so much that there aren't any, but that there are particular ones that are more lucrative to hunt.  Golems, for example, are easy to kill, drop crafting resources, and formulas.  It used to be a novel event when you could camp out one of the two Tier 3 golem spots without intruding on other players (oftening resulting in a KSing shouting match).

The game isn't boring because you can do the same thing over and over again?  Granted, there were several quests I did in excess of 500 times, but it gets highly repetative.  Mostly, I was amused at how many times you could get a reward for doing the same thing.  Often, there are only 2 or 3 class quests to choose from for every 10 levels: (craft/kill) (10/20) of (object/mob).

There are a lot of nice things about the crafting system and it has greatly improved since it was released (auto-deconstruct comes to mind), but it only takes a few flaws to really hamper the process.  With tier 3 and 4 resources, over half your time spent crafting is running back and forth to the resource areas.  It was a bit disheartening to realize after several hundred hours of crafting, I was permanently gimped because I didn't choose a saris to start with (extra sprint).  Until the introduced tier 5 formulas, it was actually detrimental to level to max because of the way they designed skill progressiopn.  On top of that, every 20 levels is just a clone of the previous, which, while not awful in and of itself, does certainly add to the repetativeness of the game.

We play RPGs to play a role.  Part of that is determining the motivations and drives of the character.  What is the purpose or goal of a character in HZ?  Fighting the WA is a bit artificial, as whether it ends or continues forever is at the discretion of the devs and not something players can really bring about.  Developing a piece of property is something to pass the time with, but then what?  The lack of direct competition, lack of skill customization (or items outside of their system), and lack of alternative endgame goals are what really hurt this game.  The other points you brought up, and tried to defend, are just nails in the coffin.  Even if you don't personally mind some of the issues, realize that they do bother many of those who tried to play HZ.  If you like the game, more power to you.  I hope you continue to enjoy it, though if the recent staff cuts are any indication of how well the game is doing, that might not be for too much longer.

tu_uilwen, what game are you playing?

If what you say is true, and that "it isn't borign in any way.." then you sir are in a MAJOR Minority. The servers are a wasteland.

This game great for about a month, and then you hit a wall, because it is all the same just diff mob model, same loot, rinse & repeat.

As for the crafting system, it ROCKS, to bad there is nothing worth crafting....

As for the quest thing, again, it takes ZERO ensite to go kill X of X, WOW, they are visionaries!

The lag problem with this game (I haven't played since March, so if something has changed I appologize) is that it is not correctly coded. Older graphics cards seem to work better than newer cards (DX 8 & 9). And let's not even talk about the ATI problems.

This was all over the HV & Tazoon boards.

    Tu_uilwen,

You love the quest system because you can do quest more than once...???

lol that was enough to tell me you have a very strange concpet of fun.. :P. The only people I know who enjoy doing the same thing over and over again for the same result are in a mental institute. Good luck.

We should stop giving games a break its people like you that make it possible for developer to think that its ok to release crappy games.   I relly hope you don't place such standard on the next car you buy, you are a hazard to our safety.

    good day,

    lol

Umm you would have a leg to stand on if the game was actually doing well.

A major layoff in December ( because they only sold 34K copies ) and another major one in June is a game that is in serious financial trouble. The fact that AT MOST you have 400 people per server during north american primetime and less during European primetime are serious indicators of a problem. If they had been doing well development would have been better because they would have had the resources and they would not have laid off people 2 times now.

If it was that good people would not have left and the game would be doing very well financially. HZ and games like Shadowbane and AC2 suffered at the will of the MMO customer voting with their dollars.

As it is you have NO leg whatsoever to stand on here. AE has made their own bed and HZ will never ever be anything more than a small niche game with 2 to 3 servers ( yes those server mergers are coming soon we all know that ) .

HZ's own playerbase has spoken and voted with their gaming dollar and AE is definitely feeling the after effects of shotty and poor development.

    The facts speak for themselves.

    Evening All:

I hardly ever comment on forums, but this is something I can speak about somewhat.

I downloaded this game and received the free trial.  It was an interesting experience.  For the most part, players were very helpful with information, as that is all I requested.   The initial graphics seemed somewhat unattractive.  truly the GUI was lacking.

And the fighting was an offense on gamers in my humble opinion.  But that is that, it did; however, have its strong points, again in my own opinion.

I thought the Crafting system was superb and probably the most original concept of crafting in any game, ever developed.  truly a remarkable accomplishment.

I also thought the system of purchasing items from "NPCs" was also an accomplishment and a step forward in online games.  Not so much on the entirely player based economy, but showing items that would relate to that specific player if he/she desired, based on their class, level , abilitys, etc.

In my humble opinion, this game had / has potential, but will likely bottle up, but hopefully the Gaming Industry will have learned a lesson.  Players want more to do than just fighting, i.e. crafting, questing, social interaction, etc.

And lets not bash the basher.  He does have a point, though.  To some extent bashing anyone or any company , or anyone for that matter is negative and unproductive.  Think about the positives and places where improvement can occur.  Placing all of ones thoughts on the faults of others or games etc, will only be counter productive.

See you all on the flip side!
