Match types

Considering buying Fury tomorrow, from what I've seen on the videos the combat at least looks interesting..

However, also most of the videos I've watched happen in only like 2 arenas, this worries me a bit about just how repetitive this could become.  Granted most of the videos were from beta so perhaps someone with the retail version could shed some light on the subject.

Match types?  how many are there, what kind of objectives.

All arenas or any battleground style fighting, and how big do the arenas get/ how many players possible per battle.

Thanks for your time.

At the moment there are 3 types of games plus 1 training (not ranked) type.

One type is free-for-all Bloodbath. 16 players compete against each other.

    Other type is 4vs4 Elimination.

Other type is 8vs8 Vortex, which is a sub-type of capture the flag.

Auran (the developer) is working on 1vs1 and 2vs2 type of games currently.

Ted Treffon: No, I don't represent that either.

yeah there are only three different arenas atm,  however, after about 20 hours of play they havent gotten old to me personally.

Mainly due to the fact my character is upgrading fast as hell and each new addition changes how I play etc.

Im sure by the time Im bored there will be more options.

As covered already, there are currently 3 different gametypes (info here). Each of these  gametypes has a  varying number of maps within it, which will increase as time goes on.

Repetition is far less of an issue in PvP games, as playing against real players means no match will ever be the same. It's not like a PvE raid where you will have to repeat the same processes every time. Take a look at some of the classic Counter Strike maps for example. Many of them have been staple competition maps for years, and are still loved.

Replayability is about providing the fun core gameplay and maps which reflect it well. You can improve it further by adding dynamic elements that make gameplay vary more from match to match, and that is something we are definately looking at.

While I agree with you that repetition is less of an issue with pvp it does not mean you don't have to put content in a game for it to survive.  3 maps at launch for me won't cut it, and your game types are limited, two of them are deathmatch style and one capture the flag.

You'd think considering this game style would leave you open to focus solely on the pvp elements there would be many more types of gameplay and pvp scenarios available.   As is, it's less than some PVE games have for pvp endgame which for me personally is unacceptable and I'm your target audience.

Good luck with that guys, thanks for the info everyone anyhow.  Maybe I'll see what's been added in a year and pick it up then, seems like most games anymore need a year of release to deliver a real product.
