templars will own everything because of how damage is calculated. its a lot like diablo II but its 3d and got nicer graphics. i'd say i'm having more fun playing than i did diablo 2... but i didn't like diablo 2 that much. i like it better though so its okay
How does the world work? Is it a fairly free ranging style, where you can run all over the city as you choose,or are some areas only accessable as you level up like in traditional FPS games as well as diablo 2?
And how does the enhancement system work? Ive seen that to enhance an item you need to collect certain ingredients, like a mini crafting system, but does it work in the way diablo did where you found gems that added specific stats? Can I pick and choose what stats I add to an item if i have the specific ingredients?
Is there a difference between mob strength and amount if you enter an area grouped? Can i share quests with others?
How are the classes. Are some class better at things than others?
Blademaster: squishy but extreme melee damage.
Guardian: tank with good damage. Only has single target sword attacks, but the game has splash damage weapon including for shields and swords. Guardian has a shield spin skill and with a splash damage shield this does very nice damage and it stuns.
Evoker: Haven't played much – Basic Ranged spell caster, But the weapon you use help your spells do more damage. Which is cool.
Summoner: Has a fear, heals, pets. And weapons found can do good damage.
Marksman: Haven't played much -
Engineer: Fewer pets than Summoner bigger guns.

The game is easy at the moment. They are adding a harder (elite) mode and a hardcore mode for subscribers only. And there will be a nightmare difficulty. They could use better ingame tools for grouping, hopefully we will see some on release.

Small hubs with everything instanced. You advance from one hub to another as you complete main storyline quests.

This is the best part of the game. If a weapon has slots you can add mods that drop or you buy.
You can also pay to have a random attribute added to a weapon or armor.
You use ingredients you get from breaking things down to up an items level, upping the damage or armor.
So there are 3 ways to Improve weapons, 2 for armor.

Well I haven't grouped much and no pvp yet in beta should be in release .
I personally don't see any direct similarities with Diablo 2 for some reason. Also, the PvP system is very limited, having only a duel system (when released). Arenas will only be available for subscribers. Hence why i cancelled my pre-order.

Loot is what this game is about. And for variety, it does it better than any game has. Lets look at it this way... Take a sniper rifle. Is it common (no random bonus) Green (one bonus) Blue (two bonuses) Orange (3) or yellow (unique, 5). All bonuses being completely random. Even if it is a stamina add bonus, it will be random on the amount. Next, how many mods does the weapon allow. I have seen weapons with up to 8 mod slots. A mod then can be applied to each slot. That mod is random. AND, mods come in 5 rarity levels also, common to unique. So, mixing the random weapon, with random mods, you'll NEVER have two weapons alike in the game.
As for looks. there are plenty of different models for guns. But to make it more unique, they made the mods that you add, show up on the weapon visibly. ie. you have a scope mod. the scope actually shows up for that mod type on the weapon for all to see. You have an ammo clip mod. the ammo clip appears on the weapon now. AND, its not just 1 model for the scope or ammo clip or whatever mod, each type of mod has a number of different models that it can be. So the overall weapon WITH mods can look different than someone elses who has the same base weapon type.
The NDA has been lifted. It is clearly stated here: http://hellgatelondon.com/underground/subscribers-and-patch-0 I personally don't see any direct similarities with Diablo 2 for some reason. Though I agree the PvP is limited, the above 'dual only' statement is inaccurate.
Here is a cut and paste from the Devs earlier today...
PVP
Players can both duel and elect to enter free-for-all PvP Mode. To duel, a player invites the person they wish to duel into a group, and heads into an adventuring area. Duelers, then right-click on the portrait of the person they wish to duel and select the Duel option from the displayed list. Dueling can only take place outside of Underground hubs.
Players can also choose to enter into PvP mode which means they can be attacked and harmed outside of Underground hubs by anyone else that has chosen to enter PvP mode. That is, those in PvP mode, must always be ready for PvP. This is a way to have wide-ranging free-for-alls, or create your own “friendly-fire” way of playing the game.
Sort of strange that the game would go live without a beta test of the designed PVP system, I mean, what game would do something lke that? (oh wait...WOW did, I forgot)

I would guess this is mainly because the game is not designed around PvP. There is NO balance for it. It will be obvious early on that certain classes out do other classes. The PvP is only in so that those who feel the need to vent on PC's... can. Its not going to be very robust at all (at least for a while at first).

Mob strength grows with more in the group. All members get full exp for the kills. Loot drops are better for grouping. and, a beautiful thing about this game.... If the loot is on your screen, its yours. you dont have to see everyone elses loot. So, when you kill that first boss, and he errupts like a pinata at a childs birthday party, its ALL yours
With small content added every month and larger content added every 3months...I dont see what kind of *End Game* it could have. This is a Action RPG/FPS, not a MMO...
(Not A MMO as most people view it...but for the classification on this site...it is...)
It has been confirmed that there will be raids for subscribers, meaning endgame. I won't expect it to be no-life, or have a completely ''you need to finish this raid to go to the other'' type of system that WoW has.
Especially since you can find Legendary's off any mob in the game, depending on your luck In a subtle way like this they really brought the fun back into boss runs, since you always get nice items, and everyone in your party (all the drops on your screen are YOURS, your other party members see different drops).
Also, partying is actually completely awesome. I don't think it will ever be a necessity meaning you could effectively solo the entire game, but then if you LIKE grouping, I say group. They made a wonderful system which makes monsters a crapload tougher when your in a group (more hp, more damage), and the exp and loot is also a bit better.
This is THAT game where you can say ''Ok no mates on, im gonna solo this dungeon, but in an hour my mate will come on so we can 2 man the later instance and both get some nice stuff''.

probably b/c its a good time to release the game and make some money since all MMO got push back and TR looks like $hit.

The classes are all fairly unique.
Marksman - Played it alot in Beta. Guns and Grenades. Need to stay away from enemies to avoid damage.
Summoner-Played it to level 10. All about pets. At 10, I had a tank pet, 6 fire minions, and a Spectral AoE pet (forgot name)
Guardian-Tank. Played to 10. Solid DPS, Solid tanking. Shield bashing.
Blademaster-Played to 10. Dual wield. High DPS. A bit more squishy than the Guardian. Damage and move, damage and move.
Evoker-Caster. Not much time played
Engineer-Bot builder and gun damage dealer. Not played much.
