I played alot of MMO, and find alot of changes has to be done, and always post in the forums for suggestions, despite that, alot werent answered, and here am i sitting down waiting for the miracle to come.. LOL . Below are some of the outcome i list after playing most games.
Uninteresting storyline,
hard & pain in grinding,
no variety in weapons, armors and pets for their glow/special effects,
quests that doesnt attract you-low exp, useless stuffs. Meaning there is no difference cuz everyone is doing the same quest.
boring skills/attack mode.
botters/gold farming/afkers, players will get their levels fast and be richer ingame. For increasing afkers, the game will be laggy.

color of your hair, face, size of characters all are the same.
I'll guess there are plenty more. ...

Pretty sure most people here feel the same... at the moment anyway.

Yeah I know what ya mean. I fear for the genre itself due to the fact that all the mmos are becoming like each other. SWG got NGE which made it like wow... vanguard was promising untill it got the "simplification" boot. And every other newer game at the moment is copying one thing or another off someone else. There really hasn't been too much innovation lately.
But I hope someone comes and shakes the foundation of mmos soon.. Im getting sick of level grinders.
People wonder why things like the Wii are doing well and are hard to keep on the shelves.. its really quite simple... innovation.

The MMORPG industry got nerfed along with SWG, we just have to hope that developers will get some sense and bring out something decent again, eventually I guess.
Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.
That's the answer the big-wigs are afraid of. If they can't be sure of a strong income they aren't willing to spend the money. I don't think it's necessarily the fault of the developers, but rather the CEOs and their minions who are afraid of the unknown.

Have you tried DDO?
Uninteresting storyline,
Plenty of interesting quests, with a main story that you play through in some of the larger chain quests.
hard & pain in grinding,
Grinding has never been a problem for me in any game. I play for the sake of playing because it's fun, not just to get to the end.
no variety in weapons, armors and pets for their glow/special effects,
Except for the people that are constantly raiding, you'll see many people running around in the randomly generated (stats and appearance) gear.
quests that doesnt attract you-low exp, useless stuffs. Meaning there is no difference cuz everyone is doing the same quest.
Many players do just run the same stuff over and over to get to the level cap but that is a problem with the players not the game, there are plenty of interesting quests that aren't just about uber loot and xp.
boring skills/attack mode.
You can build a tanking wizard or a ranged barbarian or a sneaky paladin or... you get the point Lots of fun and interesting skills/feats/class combos you can play with.
And its got like, actual combat and stuff. not just standing in one spot clicking buttons. It's interactive.
botters/gold farming/afkers, players will get their levels fast and be richer ingame. For increasing afkers, the game will be laggy.
Sure there are gold farmers, but you'd have to be pretty damn lazy to buy gold in DDO.

Just stay away from any game's official forums and you'll be OK
color of your hair, face, size of characters all are the same.
The size of each character is set by their race, not quite up there with CoH on customization but there are plenty of options for your face/hair.
