Would you play pre-CU SWG if it was relauched?

Hi All !!!
Firstly let me apologise in advance if I am A) Going over old ground, 
upsetting True Galaxies or SWGEmu (I really like what you guys are trying to achieve but with the best intentions I think you don't have the code or cash to meet Sony) and C) upsetting anyone else
Out of boredom with WoW i logged back in to SWG the other day and while it still has the same problems that we all moan about and how I wish it was Pre-CU I did sort of still enjoy playing it.
So, therefore, this post is simply to raise a poll and a discussion ground that hopefully either SoE or another gaming company will look at and hopefully we can get back to where we where.
I will post the results to SoE and update everyone on their response.
Once again apologies if this seems foolish or pointless.

A huge part of my reluctance to go back to SWG...in any form...is who is running the show.
SOE and LA.
Both organizations have shown nothing but contempt for their customers by their actions.
I'd be reluctant to again invest my time (and my money, in a very tangible sense) into something where, at a whim, my investment could be eviscerated.
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

I think that if there's one thing that SWG has taught us, that is that nothing is forever. For all we know they could change it back.
Also, notice that I got my point across without gratuitous use of large font.
They won't change it back. From what I have been able to gather, SOE originally had a 3-year contract for the MMO, and it was renewed for another 3 years.
*If* LucasArts and Bioware *are* working on a new Star Wars MMO, I don't see them renewing that contract again.
That being said, and with all the comments from the SWG developers - they won't change it back to anything pre-NGE.
In all honesty - what screwed SWG was it's players. Not SOE, not LucasArts. The sheer number of players who wanted to be Jedi and not have to work for it and complained endlessly and tirelessly.
I place blame on LucasArts and SOE for listening and for springing the NGE on us. But I blame those players moreso for being greedy little bastiches.

I am agree with you. IF Bioware's game is Star Wars themed, i will try all my strenght to silence people who talking about aand complaining about Jedis,
we should give 'em a chance and just live the saga man.
Pre-Cu, it was my favorite thing in the world, well, it was my first MMO ever so of course I thought it was great.
I would give a go again with little reservation. Well, as long as I could have 3 rancors out at the same time again, that was so cheap
I will not pay any monies to SOny Online Entertainment nor Lucas Arts. (this applies to ANY, EVERY, product that is associated with the companies)
yes, I would be interested in playing SWG if it were availble as it existed pre-cu. Does this mean my only option is through an emulator?
The only option would be through an emulator, but I don't see emulators even going anywhere to be honest.
What private organization is going to have enough cash to run multiple servers and afford the bandwidth needed to emulate a full-blow galaxy?
Remember "server-boundary" issues? One planet actually took multiple servers (around 6 or more?)

I would go back if they made it Pre-CU. But that is never going to happen because they are dumb idiots. I would not pay 15$ a month though for this crappy "still" bugged pos game they call a MMO.

Nope..moved on SWG is very much 3 years ago for me not because of the crap that surrounded the game but the fact it was a pretty poor game fullstop.
Pre Cu alone would not be enough .... they would also need to get a new engine, fix the damn bugs and tone down the buffs .... and getting the economy right .... but yeah, then i would go back
I think you would have some folks that would go back and play it. I don't believe you would be able to achieve 'wholesale' buy-in, though.
The SWG-NGE servers would lose numbers for a few reasons:
1) Some (most?) remaining Vets would leave to play the game they enjoyed.
2) A lot of NGE players would leave just to try out something different and to see what all the fuss was about.
3) As players left to go play on the 'preCU' server, the one's left on the NGE servers would probably quit due to lack of population on already barren servers.
The preCU servers would in no way 'save the game'. Too many previous SWG players have moved on to other games and/or given up any kind of faith in SOE whatsoever.
Realistically, the NGE servers would die and the preCU servers wouldn't bring enough of a following to really restore the game.
What made SWG great was the community. The community was torn apart 2-3 times by SOE. It has never been restored. So, even if the game itself were rolled back, without the old community... it wouldn't be the same.
I would enjoy playing in the old system (either CU or preCU) for a while. I really would. But then I would want new content, bugs to be worked out, and I'd want the game to be brought up to current technology.

I'll give SOE some credit for attempting to make their current UI more like their preCU UI. But it's just not there. They tried to allow old players to play the new game the old way, and they still wanted new players to play the game the new way.
I'm not sure if this was a sad attempt at making the game portable to console or not? In the current state though, the game is clown-shoes at best.

I wanted to answer your poll, but the truth is: I don't know. If they revamped the existing game where I kept my old toons etc, etc, then probably. If they made a new server that I could x-fer to for free, probably. If they made a new server where everyone had to start from scratch, maybe depending on how many of my old friends returned.
Most importantly, if the new pre-cu did not incorporate the bug fixes and content upgrades made in the last 2.5 years, then absolutely not.
I think Pre CU SWG was the best MMO hands down. Player city, player housing, shops, rare items, paintings, comvat system, loots, drops, rare weapons, etc. If they had a pre cu server I'd join in a heartbeat and know a bunch of old vets, that would drop their current game, divorce their wives/gf's and would rejoin from the bloodfin server.
Burnt out on WoW. Loved SWG till SOE ruined it after JTLS. EQ2 isn't that great for crafting. What's next??

Not as long as SOE is in the picture. Without a major change at SOE, I won't be spending money on any product the company benefits from.
No for 2 reasons
1: SOE would still be receiving my money.
2: ALL the people I knew in Pre-CU SWG have long sinced moved on and it wouldnt be the same.
Ya i might. I never got to play pre-cu. just the cu. So i would like to try it. SWGemu or SWGanh is probably the only places we will get that chance though.
