I agree with you, Ohaan. It's my personal opinion that all MMORPGs should have full PvP on every server, isn't that the nature of a massively multiplayer online world?

As much as I would enjoy that I can't deny the market for the PvE grind style MMO; some people just want to level class-based toons. I would be more than happy if we could get devs to do one or the other.

You know... I don't see why it isn't possible to do both. Allow the players to choose a class or to opt out with a 'freestyle' character.

The best solution is for the developers to stick with their intended vision of the game, especially as the MMO market introduces more quality games.  As the competition for subscribers increases those companies who use their resources wisely will keep their core subscribers around.  If you are going to make a PvE game make it great & continue to make it better (that is why if I was a PvE type player I'd go with LOTRO over WoW).  Wasting time / energy trying to add a half assed pvp ruleset won't be worth your time when there are other games coming out whose whole focus IS on the pvp experience.  The only possible reason to have multiple servers (IMO) is because of server load issues and maybe the addition of an RP server.

The isue when it comes down to it, is enforcement. It is difficult to enforce roleplay rules, time consuming, and will always end with one of your customers being upset (Bad from the business perspective). The current standard is having a server that they list as "roleplay" but do not enforce it. Let the players work it out for themselves and we (the company) wont get bothered or blamed. ..honestly, I believe thats probably the way any future game will have it
