Not so - plenty of people complaining about lots of different things on the beta forums.
Its only the people whose repeated posts basically amount to 'This is a gilded turd' that get banned :)
if that phrase actually made it onto the beta boards you might have a point.

it didn't, you don't, and whilst I have stopped employing that particular phrase in these forums, I whole-heartedly agree with it and stand by my opinion that TR is nothing more than one.

perhaps in 6 months it might actually be worth a 15 buck a montth subscription. At present, nope, not even close.

As far as TR is concerned, it's one of those games that I don't love, however, I don't hate it either. Having played practically every MMORPG on the market, I can safely say that it's lacking the degree of depth that's a requisite in modern MMOGs; however, the devs have made improvements in leaps and bounds since closed beta started--the game is so much better now than it was a couple of months ago.

Whoever stated that TR should have GW's pricing plan has a point--TR has about as much content as GW from what I've seen. Also, the game is in dire need of a better PvP system.

Despite its shortcomings, I personally enjoy TR because, ever since the butchering of SWG, I've been craving a sci-fi game, and unless Bioware decides to release Knights Online, there are very few upcoming sci-fi MMORPGs in the foreseeable future, sadly.

I'm not going to be playing TR at launch, but if they add some more content a few months down the road, I may give it another chance. Until then, I'll just wait for WAR.

I dont argue that the game isnt fun.. its just not worth the asking price. NC or NeoCron is free 2 get the game, you get a 10 trail and a 30 day month free of a payed acct and a monthly fee of around 9 dollars. plus waayyy more content.

the math just dont add up for this game. even if you got pre-order and get "10 days free" IF you made lv15 you're still paying for those xtra "free" days. 5 bucks... to the people that actually noticed that.

Games I've Played: SilkRoad, Flyff, NeoCron, PlanetSide, Rapplez, UpshiftRacer, Drift City, TB, Kwonho, ArchLord, AoA, Exteel, WolfTeam, Shaiyan, WoKF, FFXIV, STO, KoTR, ESO, Defiance, Mabinogi

    Games I'm Playing: Warframe/STO

Games I'm Pondering: The Secret World

I have played the beta on and off for a while.  I have had fun, especialy at the start.  If you look at LotRO it did much the same thing.  Had good low level content, and not much mid / high level.  They quickly worked on adding the other content (but I did get tired of that game).

Point is, this game is fun when you start out.  Depending on how much depth / change you need in a game will determine if it stays fun for you as you level.

For me, it does not have enough depth.  I am not writing it off however.  I will not play it at launch.  Maybe in a couple months, after some patches and more depth, I'll take a look.  I'm sure at some point they will offer a free 7 day or 2 week trial, after they have added a bunch of content.

Until, I wish the people who do jump in the best of luck, and hang in there.  Without you, they will not have enough money to add content / depth to get people like me to play

If they were to use the GuildWars model, "buy the box, play forever", then TR would be worth purchasing, but given the state of the game and the woeful inadequacies that have gone ignored for months, it simply isn't worth wasting 15 bucks a month on.
    Off topic a sec:

Anybody have a clue if NCSoft are planning any sort of station pass type model for their games? I play the CoX games, so if they did have a pass method, I'd shell out for the TR box. But to pay $15 for TR itself a month isn't worth it to me.

I doubt you will ever see a "station pass" from NCSoft. Their developers are mostly 3rd party, and these 3rd paries have better things to do than share revenue. If they had planned to do something like this, they would have kept AA alive as a teaser for other games, much like SOE keeps MxO or Planet Side alive (not bashing these games, just the populations are small, but valuable to SP).

Played (more than a month): SWG, Second Life, Tabula Rasa, Lineage 2, Everquest 2, EvE, MxO, Ryzom.

Tried: WoW, Shadowbane, Anarchy Online, Everquest, WWII Online, Planetside

    Beta: Lotro, Tabula Rasa, WAR.

i agree the game was a little simple at start, but the if your either out leveled in the area to make things easier you need a group or your going to take quite some time completing the mission(instance) solo with plentiful deaths and repairing

after a few patches they made the mob/npc's a bit tougher with changes to weapons armor and such yah it came a bit more challenging... after i got off foreas and hit the next area  it became a bit more challenging for me.. its a whole new planet and 20 lvls into the game but  after that it became fun and really challenging in my eyes...  (swg for example.... u could go to almost any planet get some buffs and pretty much kill anything - TR if ur 20 and the mob is 38 your going to get sent to the medic

Oh, you screwed up. No, in pre-cu swg you could not just go out with a doctor buff and kill anything. And don't even try to counter me on this, I was one of those buffing doctors. There were NPC's sitting right outside of Coronet (see sith hunter) who could blast a fully buffed TKM with the best composite and a well crafted VK, seriously, don't even try. Sure, with a doc buff you could solo any mission terminal, even on Dath, but you *could not* solo Krayts, Night Sisters, Ancient Rancor, Singing Mountain Clan, The Corvette, The Deathwatch Bunker, or the Gen Lab, basically any high end content in game. Note: This is Pre-CU and not NGE or CU, where you could solo anything id you had enough patience.

Plus Pre-CU we didn't have levels, we had professions and resistances. I have played TR, it's a shadow of SWG of old, and has perhaps 1/6 the systems in place. Go Third Gen...

I'm enjoying the game simply because it's not another hack-n-slash fantasy MMO [I'd still be playing SWG if they would've left it pre-cu].

TR is so shallow...ugh...I'll take Planetside, a 4+ year old game over this game any day.

How can you compare TR with Planetside? Have you ever played TR? Where are the quests in Planetside? Or the Instances? Or the habilty like Logos? Or Team Chat? Does he have better graphics? Clever NPCs that run and dodge?

Dont get me wrong. I love Planetside but its impossoble to compare this games! They aren´t of the same genre! The only thing that they have in common is that they are online!

To compare this game with each other isnt stupid...its just "shallow".
