Greetings, fair citizens of Agon, Yssam, Niflheim, Gairn, and Rubaiyat.
A new empire is being forged... The Empire of Senatus Populusque Romanus (SPQR). All across the vast world there are barbarians who kill and loot as they please... anarchy is being spread all across our vast world. I speak truthfully when I say to you that this ends now. SPQR Will bring order to our empire, we WILL assimilate those who oppose us, we WILL bring total security to our empire. As I speak now, the military forces of SPQR are assembling to build our new empire. While the Military secures and defends land for us, conquers our enemies, and patrols our waters, our citizens will and crafters will build homes and shops to support the empire. Once you are a member of SPQR, you are protected, and have the freedom to live your life in Darkfall.

To ensure that we are highly orginised and combat ready, our military is divided into various branches. The branches are as follows:
Army Branch Naval Branch Urban CohertNon Military branches are:
Commerce Branch CitizensBranch Overlook
Army Branch: It is the job of the army to march out and defeat the Empire's enemys, to protect all imperial cities, and keep trade routes safe.
Naval Branch:The navy will patrol Empire waters and trade routes, to keep our sea's safe from pirates and intruders. During times of war, the Navy will siege the enemy sea, cutting of sea trade to the enemy, while the Army then moves in to take/destroy the city.
Urban Cohert: The Elite of the Empire. They are dedicated to protecting the imperial city, and the outlaying regions. From time to time they will march with the Army. Members of the Urban Cohert are the best of the best.
Commerce Branch: Members of the commerce branch are business owners. There are no ranks in the commerce branch, everyone is equal. If you are a member of the commerce branch, you get certain benefits, like: 1. Each of your trade caravans will be protected by members of the army branch, or the navy branch, depending if the caravan will head out on land or sea 2. Each shop owner that is a member of the commerce branch will have the option of taking on jobs for the empire, and if they accept assignments from the empire, they will be Highly paid. 3. Citizens: Citizens of the empire are normal , everyday, people; that do not wish to be part of the military and just want to live there lives, doing what they wish. All citizens of the Empire are protected, and if requested, will be provided with finical aide.
Imperial City's
City's that are part of the empire will receive full protection from SPQR's military forces, as well as financial support from the Commerce branch.
The capital city of SPQR will be Imperiosus Metropolis (Latin for Imperial Metropolis)
Imperiosus Metropolis will be heavily guarded at all times, and will have 2 Walls encircling it, with battlements, for protection. It will have an excellent Urban Plan, and will make for a fine capital city.

Ranks of the Military

Military ranks of the Army branch and the Navy branch are divided into 3 "tiers".
The first and lowest tier is the Enlisted Ranks.
The next tier is Non Commissioned Officer (NCO) Ranks.
The highest tier is the Officer Tier.
Each tier contains 3 ranks, meaning that in all there are 9 ranks in each military branch of SPQR.

Leadership
SPQR Is governed by a strong, central command & control team. Applying these principles to their actions, SPQR maintains a non-corrupt central government.

In order to define military leadership, the definition of command is needed: command is the authority a person in the military service lawfully exercises over subordinates by virtue of his rank and assignment or position. When military leadership is mentioned, the impression may be made that this term can only be defined by a commanding officer over his subordinates in issuing orders but leadership in any form can be possessed by anyone in almost any situation.
Similar in respects to general leadership, military leadership requires of an officer to maintain a level of decorum with their command to prevent confusion and chaos when the situation requires it. Simply stated, military leadership is the process of influencing others to accomplish the mission by providing purpose, direction, and motivation. Although some officers may never see the front lines of combat and experience the adrenaline rush of making a decision that could ultimately lead their command to victory or defeat, those that perform command level responsibilities should possess these same skills.
As a leader, following through with orders and completing a mission/ project are the key basics when discussing performance, but in order to gain the respect of ones command, considerations need to be made for troops; asking a troop to die for against insurmountable odds my be attempting to complete the mission, but it in no way takes into account the welfare of those who risk their lives.
When considering applications for a command position, superior officers will more than likely try to identify the type of person a candidate is and how well they handle themselves. Along with considering how selfless an officer is (basically putting the needs and goals of their alignment and unit ahead of personal needs and interests), but also if they possess several necessary values:
1. Courage: overcoming fears of bodily harm (physical) and mental anguish (moral) while doing what a situation requires.
2. Candor: being frank, open, honest, and sincere with your command, seniors, and peers
3. Competence: proficiency in required professional knowledge, judgment, and skills
4. Commitment: dedication to carry out all unit missions and to serve the values of the unit and alignment.
5. Honor: is commitment, courage, respect, and infallible duty.
Ideally, the best officer will be adept in these areas and will be chosen based on personal value. It is also important that an officer be adept in the command essentials: command policies, authority, responsibility, chain of command and other channels, military rank, military discipline and conduct, and the enlisted aspects of command.
Leadership Principles
1. Know yourself and seek self-improvement.
2. Be technically and tactically proficient.
3. Develop a sense of responsibility among your subordinates.
4. Make sound and timely decisions.
5. Set the example.
6. Know your Troops and look out for their welfare.
7. Keep your Troops informed.
8. Seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions.
9. Ensure assigned tasks are understood, supervised, and accomplished.
10. Train your Troops as a team.
11. Employ your command in accordance with its capabilities.

However, if the government does become corrupt in some way, the people of SPQR have the right to remove it and establish a new central government.

You may be asking yourself, why join SPQR?
Here's a few reasons why:
-SPQR is the largest roman-themed darkfall clan.
-SPQR Takes care of it's members. If someone is threating or harrasing you, we view them as threatening SPQR as a whole, and will act accordingly.
-SPQR is very organized , and it's rule's, regulations, and combat strategies are we planned out.
-SPQR is GREAT news for craftsmen and business owners. By joining our commerce branch, we pay YOU for each sale you make
-While SPQR is roman-themed, we don't go to the point of being unimmersive in the Darkfall universe.
-SPQR Will use real roman legionarie tactics, expect modify them to include magic.
-While some other clans don't have a real plan on what area they are going to set up, how they are going to protect their land, SPQR does not fit in that category. We have carefully crafted a "gameplan" that will be perfected in the beta, so that we will be sure to flourish.
-SPQR is a clan that roleplays at times, which you should keep in mind if you join.

Ingame Name: I've used the names Asthuran and Azurai for the past 7 years, call me what you will.
Speciality: I have always strived to hone my sword skill until it has been flawless, and I will continue to do so in Darkfall. I have lead men, and i have followed men, I do whats necessary to win the war. My other specialty is tactics. I always formulate battle plans before entering a battle and weigh out the win/loss ratio based on the statistics available to me before the battle begins. More than anything else, I will never sacrafice one of my men (when in a leader position) under any circumstance unless it is absolutely necessary. In most cases I will put myself in such suicide missions before my men. I'm not fit for sitting in a diplomatic seat, although i have good real life speechcraft skills, im meant to fight on the front lines whether you put me as a follower or a leader i always have and always will carry out my assignments until they are finished.
Branch Applying for: I would prefer to get a seat in the Army branch, it's where im best suited to serve the empire best.
Position applying for: I wont apply for any position in specific, I will let the hierarchy of the empire decide what role I need to play in the creation of our empire whether it be foot soldier or leader.
Why you want to join SPQR: I wish to join SPQR because of several reasons. It seems that it will be extremely well versed in organization. People here seem to take their roles seriously which is the base foundation to the creation of a powerful empire. I personally love latin/rome/greece and their culture. I have a personal interest in those cultures battle plans and war tactics. Furthermore, beyond a personal reason to request joining, I would prefer to be in a guild from when before Darkfall is released so that I can be here from the very beginning to the very end knowing I left my mark whether it be small or large in the world of Darkfall and the forging of this empire. If accepted i pledge my sword to this guild and its ambitions.

One thing I fear is that not enough people will apt for the craftsmen positions, so I volunteer to spend more time that most learning some important tradeskills for the benifit of the guild. Think of me as a part time crafter or so
