So im going to try ac again hehe, need advice

 So anyways I played ac for a couple years then wandered off to try other stuff. Well after a recent discussion with a friend about how all mmporgs are now boring xp grinding autoattacktherat games I gave him the disclaimer, "well asherons call I never really felt bored like that" I decided wtf ill just grit my teeth over the graphics and try again

What I need to know is, originally I was a life/archer. And frankly, the game wasnt all that challenging with the exception of pvp. I was wondering if mages are still pretty good and challenging to play?

Any suggestions?

AC is pretty much an XP grind and auto-attack game. Though that isn't to say it isn't fun and there aren't other things to do. If you were looking for a game with none of that, AC and most other MMOG's aren't for you. Maybe try A Tale in the Desert? If you are looking for a FUN xp grind and auto attack game AC is it in my opinion.

As for mages, they are still good, though the challenge has been taken out of them a little bit. Components have been simplified, learning spells has been simplified and buffing has been simplified to speed up the game. They're still my favorite class though.

Im going back too cause CoH killed my wantings to search for a new mmorpg, i hate wasting money well anyway im gonna try the new server, hopfuly it wont be very populated, great cause no more camping, well if ur goin back too tell me what ur names gonna be maby we can start a clan on the new sserver

From what I have heard the new server is heavily camped. Not sure how long that will last.

Mages are still the easiest characters overall to level in the long run.

It is a lot easier to level now, especially since buffing is so much easier and faster.

I had gone back and gave AC a try again a few months ago. It was insanely hard to get it to work over my router again, but I got it ^^ Anyways, leveling in the game is definitely easier now (from the tweaks they have made), but the xp-grind is still there - you can just feel it.

I believe the new server they just put up is really camped, like the above poster said. Of course don't let that discount the idea of you having fun there, you never know! Also, I believe your build of a mage is still viable and works good. It is my belief every class/combo is fun, some are just more challenging. Anyways, hope you have fun and post back if you are enjoying it!
