if not that, then maybe try and hunt down free UO shard... im not going to give u any specific info because that kinda stuff isnt allowed here... but its not too hard to find and get into if u really look...

a couple UO shards i played on could get about 700-1000+ ppl on at peak times which aint half bad...

U.O. (Ultima Online) is a game with cutting edge 2D graphics, but I don't think it's free.

UOGateway, that allows you to play on Player-Run servers which you don't have to pay for every month. The general community is much better in those servers although you won't find that large of a population, or else it would be too laggy, seeing as though your not paying for a server.

Also maybe try Diablo 2. Thats kinda like an MMORPG, and you just have to pay once to actually purchase the game, other then that...good luck!
