What is PvE like in this game?

Is this mostly a PvP game?  Or is there PvE content too?

Also, are there Alternate Advancement abilities, skill trees, etc. Are they permanent?  Are there attribute points?

this game will be 50-50 (outside pvp servers of course)

You can pvp without ever taking part to raiding and you can raid without ever taking part to PvPing....or you can do both...entirely up to you.

PvE is less known animal but we know that there is quests, raid dungeons and in world content. Devs have also said there wont be any faction grinding.

Its sad when people associate PvE as raiding. Oh well, I guess its just another part of WOW's legacy.

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

    Actually EQ1 legacy.

EQ1 introduced raiding as main form of PvE years before WoW...pretty much every other mmo has followed the suit and by the sounds of it, so will AoC.

I'm well aware of who did it first, it was WoW that brought in so many noobs to the genre that many players and developers think there is no other way, that is the legacy I was reffering to.

And thus far, there has been very little indication that raiding in AoC is the primary form of PvE. In fact, from the looks of it, the PvE version of the PvP borderlands may take raiding's place at least almost entirely. That is to say the construction of a fortified city, defending it against "hiving" armed bandits, and sieging their hq before they become strong enough to overwhelm your defenses.

That is definately one thing I am looking forward to.  Building a guild city and looking down the horizon to see if the NPC enemies have built up their camp large enough to bring on an attack against us!
