Bioware's MMO IP is NOT a D&D title..

stated on D&D forums certainly, Bioware's game is NOT a D&D title .
You can delete the options Baldur's Gate or NWN.

I think its been pretty clear it wont be kotor anyways. besides i rather have a new sci-fi mmo ip.

1why would EA a publisher let someone publish their game?
2 i cant think of a SW game LA has not published.
3if this did start in early 2005 then either they didnt start as a SW game or LA thought that CU destoryed SWG or that the NGE would and pulled the IP. which if they did could explain just the content updates with no word on a expanison.

um i dont know if anyone has mentioned it yet but if you bother to go look at biowares website you will see the mmo they are making it is a fantasy game.........

This could be just a wild guess, but if they're making the MMORPG their own I.P, could it possibly be that they're basing the MMORPG on Mass Effect? I mean, what's the point in kotor online if they want to concentrate on their own I.P's rather than everyone elses and besides, I' heard that they had trouble with Lucas Arts which is why they didn't make Kotor 2 or something.

a KOTOR MMORPG would suck, what classes would there be besides ... jedi? They are the ultimate elite people in SW, so in turn they would have to be an alpha class. IT Would NOT work. My money goes to either a Mass Effect MMORPG, or one of their other IPs. I myself hopes its based off mass effect.

They didn't like the restrictions of working with LucasArts, but the primary reason they didn't make KotOR II was that they didn't have anyone available to work on it at the time. They were still working on Jade Empire, Mass Effect, and some game that they ended up canceling. The 'We're going to stick with our own IPs from now on' thing was retracted shortly after it was revealed that they were working on an MMO.
Knights of the Old Republic I and II are based on a modified Star Wars d20 RPG which is based on Dungeons and Dragons. If you've ever played KotOR you know there are classes like Scout and Soldier. Not to mention even if the game was all Jedi, SWd20 has many different kinds of Jedi classes and prestige classes. It obviously won't be like SWG though.I'm not arguing that it will be KotOR, but lack of classes certainly isn't a good argument since SWd20 certainly has several classes available.

Thank god! I'm getting SOOOOOO tired of Fantasy MMO's... no offense to Baldurs Gate or NWN fans... it's just that I'm honestly getting SOOOO tired of the whole Fantasy MMO genre because the market is over saturated with them, and I usually like Fantasy a lot. Loved the LOTR movies, loved the Dragon Lance Series but I'm just getting tired of the Orc v. elf games. I want something different for a change and there really aren't a lot of sci fi MMO's out there... We should show Sci Fi MMO's some love and some support for once.
