Edit: I was going to say something myself, but I think our forums would be convincing enough for the people who looked for themselves.

Your intentions can be good but, seems like a flaming post and, surely, it will be banned or something like this. Perhaps you need something else than "inmature" or "mature" point of view to post something like this.

I'm sorry you feel that way about us and it sounds u like had a bad run in with one of our members, but can i suggest one thing, if your going to give "advice" about  a guild can you atleast no more about us? i mean were a RP guild sure but we dont force is so this cult insult is quite unreasonable, But nice attempt to start a flame war since we are a Mature guild you wont see many of us in this thread attempting to send u a personal attack, good luck with your future advice giving and hopfully we meet in Hyboria.

Hmm, so the post was edited and the topic name was changed. Hmm.

I don't know who to slap in their feminine but male face, the OP, the moderators, or the Acolytes.

Whoever changed the post or convinced the OP to, well.. i dont think i need to say it.

Well obviously someone must play the role of the grammar nazi.  The sentence should read "The Acolytes are great."  Now give me your hand so I can smack it with a ruler.

If you are not being responded to directly, you are probably on my ignore list.

Actually, since "The Acolytes" is the name of the guild, The Acolytes is great is correct. If he were talking about the members in particular, then he would have to say that they are great.

Just thought that I'd throw that out there.

I must say, it was a heck of a turnaround. We didn't have anything to do with the edit, so at this point it looks like the thread was nothing but bait for us from the beginning.

I dont understand why someone would make a thread just to flame you guys, i have been trolling mmorpg for almost 2years now (just resently joined) and anytime I have read a post/reply from you guys it  has never been bad, you defend the game when needed and yourselves when attacked, whats the big deal with that? any how sometimes AoC needs defending since to many out there have slagged it and written it off as vapor or crap before even trying it.

I say good on you Acolytes, frack the trolls and the nay sayers.

His original post did in fact cover the members.  In particular he referenced the leader (who as I recall was described as a family man), several of the members he described as immature and mentioned a lack of active members.  I interpret the sentence as referring to the actual members since the original post outlined problems with the roster rather than treat it as a whole.

Looking at it though, the intent could be different than how I imagine it.

Unfortunately I did not get to read the original post.  But, if the OP wants to discuss something about me or the guild please contact me personally.  There is no need to waste these people's time's with this silly thread.   We are going to let this thread sink to the bottom of these forums.

Cool, I love grammar. You are both right! Let`s have a grammar-tastic group hug.

There is difference between collective noun usage in American and British English. In British English when a collective noun is understood as a team or group of individuals we often use the plural verb form, but in American English the tendency is to make this singular.

I am guessing that Ampallang is using British English, while Cathalaode is using American English.

Now, don`t get me started on Scottish grammar (my native tongue) or things will really get complicated.
