When new galaxies begin?

Hey, so today at 12:00 "Rise of the Empire" just finished, now (14:00) it says on galaxy select screen "game age: GAME OVER" "time till re-Bang: 70 hours"

So only on tuesday at 12:00 a new galaxy will begin?

Why all this waiting?
