I played eq2 for a few months after release and enjoyed it very much. Eventually my crummy rig and its poor performance got to me and forced me to quit. I recently purchased a new rig and have decided to rejoin the eq2 community.
My question is this, would my character be saved? It's been at least a year or two since i quit and would like to go back without having to start over again. Thanks in advance

Yes there is a very good chance your character is still there .. as long as you are restarting the same sony account .. as well you should also have all the veteran's rewards available since you created your account ..so if you opened it at the game launch you have some nice stuff waiting on you
Chances are your characters are still there.
You can always check by going to EQ2 Players and do a search for your character.
http://eq2players.station.sony.com/
As far as i know SOE did not delete any character that has either adventure or crafting level 10 or higher.
you could search for your character on www.eq2players.com this database should have all characters that still exist.
I recently came back to EQ2 as well. I found out that since release it is cheaper to just start over and buy the expansion withe everything. Since there is also A new expansion coming out here Nov 13, Rise of Kunark it would be wise to just get it the all-in-one pack and just start with everything! Just my 2 copper. hope you have fun. I play on the unrest server name is Jennacey.
I am so good, I backstabbed your face!
Thanks for the info, that's great to hear. I know it's off topic but should i bother buying the expansion if i'm only lvl 23 or so? I was under the impression that all expansions offer high lvl content. How exactly do the expansions work? are they extra zones in the world? Thank again
The first two expansions were geared towards the higher end from lvl 46ish upwards starting with DoF exp pack then the KoS exp pack from 56ish onwards.
EoF catered for all levels as it offered a new starting area and race, so it has content from lvl 1 to lvl 70.
RoK will cater for all levels, again with a new race and starting area, although not as much low level content as EoF had.
the expansiosn add content for different levels.
Desert of Flames has mainly content for lvl 45-60 characters
Kingdom of Sky adds zones for lvl 55-70 charcters, plus it adds the achievemnt system which helps at lower levels too
Echoes of Faydwer has zones for the whole level range from 1-70 including a new starter area, a new race (fae..). it also expands the achievements system.
Rise of Kunark the newest expansion which will go live on 13th nov. will add a new race (sarnak) plus a starter zone where you can level from 1-20 nearly all other content is aimed at lvl 65+ characters
So for low levels Echoes of faydwer is an expansion that helps cause it adds alternative locations to level.
WIth SoE now including all older expansions into the newest expansion boxes the best way to get expansions will be to wait till RoK gets released and buy the boxed version of it, then you have all expansions up to that date activated on your account.
How much is the expansion by its self.
The Rise of Kunark expansion will cost $40.
