Hey All,
I have really been enjoying FF 11, been playing with keyboard up to level 10 here and havin a blast but would like to just kick back sometimes and use my logitech gamepad (looks like ps2 pad) to conrtol the game but I cant figure out how to enable this in the game?? I found out how to do it through the config for the playonline viewer but I can not find a joystick option in the FF 11 config?? Is there some trick I dont know about to enable my gamepad? Are gamepads even supported by this game? You would think so since all the other systems it has came out on have gampad support... any help?? thanks a ton!

Hey there,
I didn't even realize that there is a PlayOnline Config! Good to know.
I'm using the vibration version of the Logitech PS2-like controller and the analog joysticks worked right away. I'm not sure what you're missing, but it's probably just something small. You're using the out-of-game config., right? All I did myself was check the box "Enable Gamepad" and the three under it, click "Default Setup", then click "Test Gamepad" to see everything work just fine. I think I also played with the "Direction Control Devices" but I don't believe it's necessary.
Hello,
thanks for the reply! Well, the only config I can find on my pc is just the standard game controller config in control panel of xp, I do not have any logitech software installed or anything. Under the control panel config it does reconize my control pad, lists it and the calibration works but I have not tried anything besides that. Are those options you are referring to in the control panel config or somewhere else?
Thanks!
There should be a config. for FFXI in your start menu under PlayOnline > Final Fantasy XI. The same config. that you use to change graphics settings.
If you removed it or something, you'll find it in your program files under PlayOnline > SquareEnix > Final Fantasy XI > ToolsUS. In fact, in this folder you can run "FFXiPadConfig" to bypass the graphics config. However, if you haven't fixed your graphics settings, I suggest you run "FINAL FANTASY XI Config" and do that as well. The game will look much better.
dippy is right he helped me with the same problem made me feel kinda blonde afterwards.
