So I got the game today, install worked fine. But as soon as I go to subscribe to the game, a window with this message pops up!

I try reloading the page, and it works. Go to step 2, same error message. I've tried reloading the page many times over the past hour. I can make it a few steps, but it always crashes like that. This is pathetic. It's a monday afternoon - why are their servers all down like this? I managed to input my cd key, but it still says my account is closed. I try to subscibe using a credit card (a forum post said you have to do this before your free time is activated), but the server always gives me that error message before it makes it all the way.
I gotta say this is one of the worst starts to an mmo I've had.

Don't panic, I read somewhere saying SoE's San Diego studio or whatever is not fully operating due to the big fire raging there bring down power availability and generally forcing staff to flee for safety.
Its a national disaster. Give SoE some time to recover, give califonian based companies some time to recover.
They've been running on skeleton crews, if that, for a week because of the fires. The log-in servers have been down a couple times over the past week, not sure if that is where a new registration goes through or not.
I would be they'd be back to the offices this week and getting back up to full speed soon. But the "Limited Sevice" announcement is still up on their main page.
as much as that sucks they are right, its crazy right now, some have been evacuated from their homes and others are not allowed to leave them so they can be notified to leave.
Dont get to discouraged, come back later and try
ah i forgot about the fires, sorry. i did get it to work later in the afternoon - it's good now.
