So they're being very sly about what they are up to. I take it they like all this hype about whether its KOTOR online. Least folk are talking about it and creating a buzz.

even that's too bright for soe. even a burnt out lightbulb has light passing through it. the soe lightbulb is not only burnt out but was made out of completely opaque non translucent black glass to begin with. its lack of light production even when it was not burnt out was said to be "working as intended"

Well, the only thing I can say is that SOE had it coming and I honestly don't feel sorry for the fanbois that deffended the NGE when it was obviously a horrible mess. To those vets that are still playing because after all, it is the only SW MMO out there, just hang on just a little longer... Then God/Bioware willing, we can finally go back to our game, have fun, then stop at a cantina and drink some beer to celebrate

Ask yourself two questions:
1) Can SOE open Classic servers... or does LEC have the yes/no vote on if they could. I've never seen an official public comment on if SOE could open such a server without LEC approval.
2) Remember those market research studies done for the CU and NGE? You know who set those up? LEC.. they weren't setup by SOE and the research was done on behalf of LEC... Those studies purposely avoided the SWG "core audience demographic". Then based on those studies changes were mandated..
Then ask yourself another question..
SOE had exclusive rights to a "star wars MMO".
Do they still have that exclusive right? (as far as *I* know there hasn't been an official comment on that).
If they don't..
Is it because LEC pulled it..
Or because SOE gave it up in exchange for something.
Then you could ask alot of other implied questions.. based on the "official" answers to those..
I doubt very much if Bioware and LEC worked together for a new Star Wars MMO.. that we will ever see a classic SWG server.
Unless this MMO fails to give LEC the numbers they want to see... Then you'll still be more likely to see the next version of a NGE than a classic SWG server.
Like I said.. you'd really have to know the answers to some questions... or it could just be all SOE's doing (which I don't dispute.. because I don't know anything offical thus I assume.. like everyone else).
when does SoE's contract with lucas arts for Star Wars run out? if its soon they probably wont announce KOTOR till that happens. if its not soon then its probably not a KOTOR MMO.
I've heard from other threads that it supposedly is to run out in 2009, So I wouldn't be surprised if they made an announcement mid 08
Few months from now is my guess. I bet they would have announced it now by if it wasn't for Mass Effect coming out!
Lol are you kidding? We have all been asking for those servers or a roll back forever now. They made it clear they aren't going to. And even if they did now, no one would go due to the fact that this 'new' bioware mmo is in the works and/or they have taken too long in making the classic servs.
Forget classic servers... the fat lady has tuned up and is ready to perform.

Ok bro, lets think for a sec here at all the things happening:
1. SOE is no longer being made in box form for stores.
2. Little advertising is being done for swg as they want to try the "word of mouth" approach. Yeah right..
3. LAE just sated on their website that they are in collaboration with bioware with one of their games.
4. On the bioware site itself they said that they are working on an mmo.
5. Not much is going into publishes for SWG recently. And theres just a skeleton crew now.
6. Its hard not to notice all the recent 'fanbois' coming in here and saying that "OMG THE GAME HAS CHANGED FOR THE BETTER" (which im convinced at least half are being paid by SoE) when in fact any vet that goes to trial it says "its still the same, give us back our game and dont take the sneaky way there"
All of these facts do not bode well for SWG and it points to the fact that maybe LAE is finally pulling the IP mmo from SOE....
One can only hope as i trust bioware a lot.
So... one has to think its on its last days... obviously. You just need to observe all the crap happening around here.

you should see the venom coming from SWG fans on other forums whenever someone brings this up.

Probably not, not until the official announcement from Bioware or LA as to what the game is... if it is (and I sure pray it is) then yeah, they'll probably wet themselves because it'll mean the end of SWG and their community... Oddly enough, I don't feel sorry for them though.

The problem is you missed why I posted the questions I did.
We all know the things you posted.. I was actually going in a totally different direction.
So I'll spell this out a bit more directly.
We know that after WoW came out LEC wasn't happy with the SWG numbers. We all know that these little "factoid studies" were done that purposely avoided the core SWG audience. We all know that changes were mandated to the game (and designed/implemented by soe) based on these studies.
We all know that the studies were done on the behalf of LEC (not SOE).
The NGE went live in November of 2005 and BioWare announced they were making a MMO 3 months later.
Gordon Walton who worked for SOE on SWG until just before the CU is now working at Bioware and so are a few other people. (sorry I forget the other big name atm). *edit* The other one was Rich Vogel who also worked on SWG and now works for BioWare.
So where I was going was here..
SOE had an exclusive right to make a Star Wars MMO aka no one else could. Just as an example.. Funcom has locked up the Conan license for 15 years as far as MMO's are concerned.
The BioWare project started before it was announced (most likely pre-dating the NGE).
So if BioWare and LEC are now in a partnership that will make this MMO (becuase we assume its based on Star Wars).
That means that LEC had to get SOE to give up EXCLUSIVE rights to a Star Wars MMO.
That could happen 3 ways:
1) SOE only had it for x amount of time.. and that time is up.
2) LEC pulls the right.. but if its part of a contract... (look up breach of contract)
3) Or LEC is able to offer SOE something to give up exclusive rights
You can take that where ever you want or just laugh after reading it (that would be my advice to laugh .. that is).
I mean I could post more bs but that's more than enough to read.. and I only write this because I'm bored.
But..
If Bioware isn't making a StarWars MMO... none of what I say, imply or think matters (actually it doesn't matter anyway).
And.. tho I did like BioWare.. they were bought by EA.. and I now know.. that any game they werre making.. will just be crap (look at all the companies EA has bought and how they all said "it won't change" and how they all started pushing out piles of dog poo..)
In fact if you can name one MMO EA bought that doesn't have less customers now than when they bought it... I'll give you a cookie.

No my friend gamers are not so small minded and they welcome any game in hopes it will be a good game. Only most of these people on the disgrunted side seem ot have this very limited view of being a gamer. But i guess most of you will never understand this as it seems like i stated before some of you are simply to ignorant.
